Beautiful theatre ornate definitely the gem in Guildhall Walk! Love the decor and has a vast and interesting history it's also one of the few surviving Matcham theatres left along with The Kings I've seen several plays here over the years I like the intimate feel that the bigger theatres don't have. Welcoming Staff and it also has its own... More

It is so nice to see a performance in such a small theatre with such character and charm. I have seen many performances here, and would choose this over a large theatre any day.

We liked this traditional theatre - easy off street car parking close by (free on a Sunday) - good views from the circle where we were seated. We went at New Theatre Royal for a performance of the Rite of Spring. The last play before the theatre close for restoration (that it definitely needs). A curious place with a intriguing Victorian taste, but now we've to wait till 2014...

The theatre is a real Victorian delight. The staff make you welcome from the word go.It was a great show but what really made it special was the surroundings. A real gem in the heart of Portsmouth.
