This would have to be the worst value for money I've experienced - we paid 18 pounds for myself to chaperone 2 children at 13 pounds each for an exhibit that was half closed (you can't go upstairs today because there's a conference on!! But they don't tell you that til you've paid your money and entered the exhibit -... More

Stopped off here, briefly, whilst waiting for the waterbus in the naval dockyard. This is an interactive place where you can do everything from flying in a simulator to firing a machine gun. Plenty of things to keep the children (and some adults like me) amused for hours.

Lots of physical things for kids to do - climbing walls, shooting things, controlling things etc etc. Staff were helpful and friendly. Great for kids under 12.

Visited today and really impressed, despite it being half term the hall was not too busy, had a lot of exhibitions for all ages spread out. There were hardly any waits for any of the attractions inside and the kids "rope walk" was amazing! Well worth going to, our 3 and almost 6 year old loved it!

Went to the Action Stations just after Christmas, and there was hardly anyone in Action Stations (probably a max of 20 people) - for a Saturday this was amazingly quiet, so meant that all climbing walls, moving climbing frame, reaction game, and helicopter sim could be all used with no queuing time at all. Has some science exhibits which overall... More

This was our first visit having bought a Groupon pass for the dockyard for a year. Staff were very friendly, and our visit took place between Christmas and new year. It was very quite, great time visit as no queues. A numbers of seats are available to have an indoor picnic, so great value if on a budget. The whole... More

During busy periods the most action you will experience at action stations is queuing long periods. Naturally it is quieter during the week and when the children are at school and so is more enjoyable. The children enjoy the climbing wall but even then they only get 4 minutes climbing time when it is busy - other times our daughter... More

Thank you for your review. Please allow me to shed some light on your points. As I'm sure you can understand, at peak times we limit the climbing time on our Climbing Tower to 3 minutes to ensure that queuing times are as minimal as possible. Since opening the Climbing Tower in 2006, 3 minutes has been proven to be... More

Ok it was half term when I visited with my 5yr old grandson and so it was busy. However, it doesn't help when some of the attractions aren't working and the young staff seem unable or unwilling to take control and move kids on when they're clearly overstaying their times on some of the "attractions" (machine gun and helicopter simulator...
