Visited today and really impressed, despite it being half term the hall was not too busy, had a lot of exhibitions for all ages spread out. There were hardly any waits for any of the attractions inside and the kids "rope walk" was amazing! Well worth going to, our 3 and almost 6 year old loved it!

Went to the Action Stations just after Christmas, and there was hardly anyone in Action Stations (probably a max of 20 people) - for a Saturday this was amazingly quiet, so meant that all climbing walls, moving climbing frame, reaction game, and helicopter sim could be all used with no queuing time at all. Has some science exhibits which overall... More

This was our first visit having bought a Groupon pass for the dockyard for a year. Staff were very friendly, and our visit took place between Christmas and new year. It was very quite, great time visit as no queues. A numbers of seats are available to have an indoor picnic, so great value if on a budget. The whole... More

During busy periods the most action you will experience at action stations is queuing long periods. Naturally it is quieter during the week and when the children are at school and so is more enjoyable. The children enjoy the climbing wall but even then they only get 4 minutes climbing time when it is busy - other times our daughter... More

Thank you for your review. Please allow me to shed some light on your points. As I'm sure you can understand, at peak times we limit the climbing time on our Climbing Tower to 3 minutes to ensure that queuing times are as minimal as possible. Since opening the Climbing Tower in 2006, 3 minutes has been proven to be... More

Ok it was half term when I visited with my 5yr old grandson and so it was busy. However, it doesn't help when some of the attractions aren't working and the young staff seem unable or unwilling to take control and move kids on when they're clearly overstaying their times on some of the "attractions" (machine gun and helicopter simulator... Our first visit with our 2 children. The queues were too long for the activities and not enough of the activities to do, there was only one helicopter flight simulator and the visitor in there just stayed for multiple goes, there was no one to monitor it. They needed to have several of them, several climbing Walls and several shooting... More

Whoever is in charge of this needs to be moved. Absolute rubbish...nothing working and a total lack of coherency. An embarrassment to the Royal Navy.

Exhibits very tired looking and most do not work. No staff member available on the floors to help answer questions, which was needed upstairs due to the exhibits not working. Staff were all gathered at the front of the building. I had a conversation with a staff member who seemed very friendly and nice, but I was disappointed that she... More

This is my 3rd time here in Action Stations. I must say that I was very disappointed with the way the place I declining rapidly. Half the interactive machines either don't work or are not programmed properly. Things are scattered about all over the place. The fact that the price starts at £8 each is a waste. There is nothing... More

Booked laser quest for my youngest son's birthday. We've spent many birthdays here, and usually very happy. However, one of his friends was taken ill on the morning of the day we had booked. It was too late to find someone to fill his place. Quite rightly, we asked for a refund for this child, only for this request to... More
