A little overshadowed by the big ships to climb over, this three part museum was a surprise. Looks like it might be a bit stayed and old fashioned as you come in, but gets better and better and better as you move into the more modern parts - the third section especially bringing great joy to children of all ages!... The museum is part of the historic dockyard site including HMS Victory and HMS Warrior. There's so much to see here and easily worth half a day to see.

I really enjoyed tho museum - it has up to date exhibits, technological interactive displays and plenty to see - I have visited the Dockyard many times and it is only recently that I visited this museum - next time, I shall go here first. Very helpful staff, great to be able to take photos and an excellent range of... More

Made a visit to the RN museum in the afternoon. Lots of information to absorb. A real interesting experience and one afternoon is not enough to do it justice. The staff are very friendly and extremely helpful. Well worth a visit or two.

Something to interest the whole family. Like most museums you have to go back again to see more. The Nelson rooms are just so fascinating .

After having visited the Royal Naval College the museum was very interesting. The history of the British Navy is one of important world history.

Everyone heads to Victory and Warrior which leaves the Naval Museum as an island of calm in the dockyard. Plenty of information which is well laid-out and displayed, although the interactive ship information retrieval archive needs some serious updating as it seems to lack anything from the 1970s onwards.

The whole experience was first class and we were surprised to find the exhibits so interesting. The staff could not have been more helpful and were clearly very proud of their museum.
