This is confusing as the featured picture is from The Royal Marines Museum, and the Royal Naval Museum has now been called The National Museum Of The Royal Navy for a few years now. Both excellent museums but feedback for the Royal Marines Museum needs go on The Royal Marines Museum page. The same for The National Museum Of The... More

What a fab museum, our son is 4 1/2 and he loved it, it was a great way to approach the history of the navy, I was a sea cadet in my youth, my dad was the commanding officer of our unit and my mum was a PO and my brother was a cadet too. When we came to the... More

Although visiting all exhibits can prove costly, with a little forethought and planning, you can pack a huge amount into a day. Check with the dockyard prior to travel as some exhibits can be closed for private events at fairly short notice. The only disappointment will be that you won't see everything there is to see in one day. However,... More

This is a really well presented history of the Royal Marines set in their barracks at Eastney but if you want to see it in this lovely setting go soon as it is moving to the Historic Docklands.

Great day out but very tiring long walk around the site. With our son being a Pilot in the Royal Navy we have real interest in this museum and it did not let us down.

I loved it and definitely am coming back, as the ticket is valid for whole year. Nelson´s ship is amazing and the guide was funny and made the tour even more enjoyable. Don´t miss the boat trip through the harbour.

Lots to see and remember for those who served in the Navy a lot of years ago! Excellent souvenir's available. Quite a lot of walking around the site.

A very well distributed museum with some hands on stuff for the kids, and the young at heart. We spent at least an hour going around and reading everything, there are two lots of videos to watch too, worth a visit.

Considering the overall importance of the Royal Navy in the history of Britain one might have expected something a bit bigger and more engaging that the RN Museum. It has a good collection of items about Lord Nelson and lots of display panels but lacks the chronological approach of most military museums. I did not come away with any impression... More
