staff are friendly & helpful, there is very little interactive about this - it's all looking & reading, not ideal for younger kids the tunnel you can go through is quiet short and usually busy/loud the otter section was empty and very smelly when we were there, with no explination why there's always a discount code/voucher can be easily found... Visited Blue Reef Aquarium on Sunday and have to say for the entrance fee of £10 for an adult and £7.50 for a child I feel slightly violated, £27.50 for 3 people. The aquarium is dated and provides around 30 minutes of entertainment followed by the obligatory gift shop. The tanks are fairly small compared to other aquariums I have... More

Visiting the Blue Reef Aquarium in Portsmouth is best avoided at all cost. The cafe is dire with no decent food for children or adults alike. As for the Aquarium itself.....shabby, run-down and dirty. Plus the whole place smells of otter c**p. Don't go.

Visited with a number of years gap. Very disappointed.Areas of this aquarium are very run down they need to find funding to get it back to how it was. There is no point having an attraction if it cannot update. The tanks of fish etc are still very interesting. But, the play area is dilapidated and dangerous for children in... More

Very overpriced. We paid £33.50 for two adults and two small children. The whole place seems very tired and took about 30 mins to see. Would not go back.

An excellent medium sized aquarium. I first visited this aquarium in 1998 and returned this month - it was really interesting to see how much it had changed in that time and also the bits which had stayed the same.

Booked the venue for my son's 6 th birthday party for him and 10 friends. They all had a whale of a time (sorry about the pun). We had our very own tour guide, Josie/Jo who was both knowledgeable and engaging and kept our rabble together with stories, information and anecdotes. The staff in general were very helpful, allowing all... More

Had a visit here with the young family in August. I didnt come away feeling amazed with the place, enjoyed Brighton a whole lot more. The fish were fine, what you expect, the building did seem a little tired in places. Was it worth the full price money? No Sign up to groupon etc and wait for good voucher deals.
