Me and my family came down to Portsmouth and paid far too much money to walk around a tacky aquarium that smelled like it's never been cleaned. Some of the tanks were empty and the fish that were there just weren't worth the money we paid to get in. Needs sorting out.

*There was algae on pretty much every single tank so was hard to see through the glass. *The fish on display were mainly species you can go and see in a pet shop or in rivers! *The otters absolutely stank and were bored/motionless. *There were only small shark species, no turtles etc.. *Toilets were unclean, messy and smelly. *Lighting is... We visited with grandchildren and paid £10 per adult and £8 per child over aged 3. friendly front desk but it went down hill from there. There was a few empty tanks, what was there was not really interesting, The play area was just ok. In my opinion they need to do a lot more to get people in the... More

Pulled up to find no specific parking so had to pay on the esplanade. Thought we would be there a good few hours so paid for 6 hours! Entered the aquarium and was awed by the first ray enclosure. The sharks were quite good too although pretty small. The rest of of 6-7 aquariums were pretty standard and average for... More

The otters were so cute! The aquarium was quite busy, lots of children but it was a bank holiday weekend. Good location, lots of different animals. Would recommend going when there are feedings.

A fascinating display of marine and freshwater creatures. The aquarium appeals to both adults and children. Everything is well presented, and overall is an absorbing way to pass an hour or so. I particularly liked the otters, which were really cute.

Took my one year old to Blue Reef and he loved it. Brought the tickets online for £8 per adult and under 3s are free. Had to pay a 75p admin fee, unsure what this was for but still cheaper than paying on the day. Aquarium is small but my little one loved it, all the displays were at a... More

Visited last week taking my Godson, luckily we managed to find a voucher online reducing our ticket price to £8 each and my godson was under 3 so was free - thank god as even walking round at a toddler's pace we were round and finished in just over 30 minutes. There definitely needs to be more on offer, whether... More

Let's start with the negatives, this is why many people check these. It's over priced for what you get, but go around twice, kids love it. Some descriptions of the fishes are too high for kids to read and some lights don't work. You need to be 6ft to read them! Now the good stuff, plenty for the kids see... More
