We had a little time on our hands in Winchcombe, so we decided to to check out this little museum. It is only two rooms, on the first floor over a shop, but it was really interesting. The police part only took about 15 minutes to check out, but the part about WWI was jam packed with the stories of... More

Cannot say much about this place. A little disappointed. Think it was over priced for what I see. Reception was where you paid to get in with a few things dotted around to see. Then made our way into what use to be an old court room which was one large room crammed with stuff from old tools some bits... More

The curator was a very interesting guy and we talked for some time about the service and the items on view. Worth a visit

There is a small entry price and as it was empty when we went, we got to ask the volunteer questions and he was very knowledgeable and friendly. The collection was donated by a man who used to collect police memorabilia and so there are... More

Through the artefacts and the atmosphere created here, you can appreciate how attitudes to offenders has changed. Thought-provoking!

This is a small local museum with a quirky mix of crime/police and local artefacts and documents. Housed in an old building near the Visitor Information office. Really interesting to read about the events from Winchcombe's history, interspersed with random police uniforms and other items in display cabinets. You could spend a lot if time here if you had time.... More

To be honest, I am astonished that this has not been mentioned before (it has been open 28 years). Winchcombe is a sight to see, but few know of this place's existence. This originally was started by a Mr Simms. This is well worth an hour of your time. The history and current uniforms of various police forces around the... More
