I went to Westonbirt on Sat 22nd August, taking myself and two small children, it costs £9 per adult while the kids went in free, the entry point appears to be new (I've never been before so can't confirm this or not). The staff were polite and friendly and the grounds do look very well looked after, personally I did... More

I first visited Westonbirt in 1988 and I am still finding areas within it that I have never seen before. I was recently bought a year's membership and so I have no excuse for not getting my money's worth now! The new visitor's entrance is very nice with decent toilets but it's still a trek from the trees! The new... More

We spent a lovely day here. The volunteer staff were excellent ,welcoming, informative and friendly. The activities were perfect for all age groups including me(granny). We went on a self guided tour which was very well signed, looking at different tree shapes. There were also information posters with questions. We all came away knowing more about trees. There were also craft activities. We gathered twigs... More

From the new parking arrangements to the London Underground style gates this lovely spot has been ruined by corporate improvements that strip the soul out of Westonbirt. The cafe is now so far from the car park that only the able bodied stand a hope in hell of getting to it. The shop is dull. I am a long standing... More

Hi there, Thank you for taking the time to get in touch. We are sorry that you are disappointed with the improvements at Westonbirt. The new Welcome Building was created to ensure our visitors had a proper entrance to the national arboretum and a much better welcome. It offers facilities all in one place and an information desk to help... More

Came here for a day out with family and the children, it was lovely. The eldest child (9) enjoyed the tree reading trail, in which he had to find trees with signs hung on them and answer questions from the sheet handed out at the entrance using the information on the tree. For the youngest (2) it was a brilliant... More

This is a must if you like peaceful, calm places. Walking through the trees the air is so pure. There are so many different trees from all over the world. We walked all the way around and then caught the boat back to the car park area. The people on the boat showed us a lot of wildlife along the... More

Why are so many places that you might take children to during the holidays so expensive? Personally I think £ 18.00 for two adults and two young boys (and they were free) pricey. For this you get to walk around an arboretum and see trees. Admittedly these are some quite unusual and attractive trees but to a 4 year old... More

Hi, Thank you for taking the time to get in touch. We are sorry that you felt our admissions fee was overpriced. Our admissions charge is absolutely vital in making sure our small tree team can maintain and care for the 15,000 trees that we have at Westonbirt. The arboretum doesn’t make a profit, but instead reinvests income into the... More

We came here with friends last Autumn to see the beautiful colours and were not disappointed now on our second visit we were not disappointed. Though not autumn the colours were still magnificent and we will be returning in a couple of months to see the acers before they shed their leaves

This is only approx. 15minutes from My house so why oh why have I ever been before!Friends with children recommended it to me as a great way to tire a 3 year old out through the summer break and they were so right. So much room for them to run and the trees especially for climbing children dotted about the... More
