This is a really good place for a few hours walking round among lovely trees and plants. Plenty of places to sit and take in the stunning views. The garden centre is very good as well although the cafe is rather expensive (the only downside really). It costs £7 for adults to get in the arboretum but you can spend... More

We spent a relaxing afternoon here during a couple of days in the Cotwolds. Excellent amenities and beautiful trees, shrubs, plants and sculptures in a quiet woodland setting. If you like woodland this medium-sized arboretum is well worth a visit and the entrance fee. A welcome cup of tea and a cake rounded off a lovely afternoon.

Beware the lunch hour at high season, because it can get very busy. But we ate good hearty food and the manager was happy to find us a place when we needed to seat 4 amidst a sea of only 2-tops available. The walk through the big tree and fluffy hydrangeas was a welcome break, very civilized and low key.... More

Well worth the entrance fee. Although we didn't have our grandchildren with us we saw lots of youngsters having great fun trying to find the hidden insects etc! Relaxing walking with lovely views and lots of benches to sit on.

The arboretum isn't quite what I expected, having been to Westonbirt I expected something similar but I have to say Batsford knocks spots off Westonbirt. It really feels like you are walking through someone's garden, the collection of trees and plants is interesting as well as beautiful, I will definitely have to go back as we ran out of time.... We drove in to the car park thinking maybe we should have come on a quieter day, but while walking round saw very few people. With seats dotted around you can take as many breaks just to "sit and stare" as you like. Went for lunch after we had walked part way, good food, good service & although they were... More

Loved this Arboretum but we were unable to spend much time here as our puppy has recently had surgery and is on time limited walks. There were some amazing panoramic views and I particularly liked that the Mitford sisters were raised at Batsford House which can be seen during the walk that is shown on a map given on paying... Really worth a visit. You can spend a lovely day here. The arboretum is situated on a hill surrounded by beautiful countryside and is a pleasure to walk around, very peaceful. There is a well stocked garden centre and the café/restaurant offers excellent food.

A wet weekend in the Cotswolds, we didn't fancy wandering around Moreton-in-Marsh in the rain, and curiosity caused us to follow the signs to the Arboretum. A lovely location, but frankly we didn't have the wet weather gear to wander around outside so decided to have a look at the attached garden center. So glad we did. My thing is... More

Batsford Arboretum is different but nonetheless interesting if you like gardens and especially trees: you can have a lovely walk around the extensive grounds, visit the Church which is beautiful, and then call at the cafe for refreshments, and buy some plants in the garden centre - all in all a good afternoon out!
