Study the information board before entering the amphitheatre and the let your imagination take over. Better still pretend you're Russel Crowe in Gladiator. Great for both little and big kids.

The pace gives you an idea, but if you've visited other arena's, then it's just for the walk and the view. Not bad, but not top!

Visited this many times for history lessons at school, visually just alot of earth and grass, but some interesting history buried beneath the ground. If your into Romans the museum in town has a lot more to interact with. The amphitheatre is tucked behind a gate with minimal signage and doesn't have its own car park only on street parking... More

Firstly, I must admit to be slightly spoiled when it comes to ampitheatres. Having seen stunning and almost perfectly preserved ones in places like Salamis and Pula to be confronted with nothing more than (impressive) earthworks was a bit of a disappointment. The paltry amount of information available was also surprising. One small board from English Heritage was all there... More

Information onsight was very rudimentary, but enough to understand generally. Easy to walk to just outside of city. Extremely impressive ancient place.

I took my elderly parents for a walk round and we all had a fantastic afternoon - its lovely thinking about what it must have felt like with 8000 people all watching the spectacle. I think the previous reviewer lacks imagination - it is just grass mounds true, put just close your eyes and dream!

The Bull Ring is a lovely adventure/wild area of parkland which wears its Roman credentials with great modesty. Good for walking dogs, children or dawdling but go to the Corinium Musuem first and it will come to life for you.

Lots of history round and about and chocolate box villages. Particularly interesting was Chedworth, a roman villa. Amphitheatre was just grass covered mounds so not really worth bothering about thats all that was visible.

I have driven past the sign to this attraction on the main road hundreds of times and I have now finally seen it (after a struggle to find it). Having seen other amphitheatres in Italy (Fiesole and Lecce to name two) I expected it to have the seats at least partly present. In fact it is just earth banks so... More
