One of the best mediaeval buildings I've been to in a while. The highly cleaned porch does somewhat spoil the old feeling of the building, however the rest of the building does not disappoint. There are some excellent brasses and original wall paintings within, as well as surviving stained glass. I should also mention the staff, who are incredibly passionate... More

The Parish church is the focal point of the market place/town center. Cirencester has an amazing history if one cares to learn about it. The only problem our family had during our visit was that everything opened late and closed very early - this was Mid July and we used Cirencester as our home-base to go explore The Costswolds and... Helpful volunteer staff. Light and airy interior with easy access in the middle of the town. Enjoyed seeing Anne Boleyns cup.

Stumbled into the Church to have a look around, just the usual old church but this guy walks up to us and asks us if we want to see the bell tower, so he takes us up the tower then before I know it im on the very top of the church roof standing looking out at the views. Breath... More

A beautiful Church and well worth a visit. Like most large Churches and Cathedrals that are open for visitors where guides and welcomers are on duty there is usually a break every hour for a word from the resident Chaplain. Absolutely right but at Cirencester the "word" was far too long. Also feel that the daily Eucharist should not be... More

I've been looking at Church architecture for many years and am familiar with the "typical". This church is anything but ordinary,I would rate it as exceptional. Like many others it is a bit of a mixture of styles and it is interesting to spot them. There are a number of very high quality aspects - the fan vaulted ceiling; the... More

Visited here on the way back from Gloucester, and this turned out to be the highlight in a very interesting town. The centre of the town, and it was full of interesting snippets of the local history. Well worth a visit.

This church is a treasure trove of stories and visuals, but what made that come to life for us(4 visitors from Australia) was Pippa, the volunteer guide, who was on duty, highly knowledgable and competent. Brilliant.
