A really nice town with lots of restaurants and bars. Beautiful architecture throughout. Avoid the chain bars on Saturday as they are full of students downing cheap shots before going to the local night club. We were also surprised how many restaurants and bars were closed on Sunday night too.

Very lovely to roam around this area and enjoy the 'Englishness' of it. With old buildings, raised pavements from the days of horse drawn carriages and muck in the streets, and even the individual boutique type shops. Definitely worth a wander through if you're in Cheltenham.

We visited Cheltenham whilst on a coach trip to the Cotswolds and whilst some people like to look round shops on their hols we always go to the heart of the district to get a true sense of the historical culture and the Montpellier and Promenade area of Cheltenham certainly portrays it very well. From the traditional regency style buildings... More

I was starving. Nipped in and ordered a prawn cocktail followed by chicken and bacon salad. All very fresh and clean. Lots of prawns with the cocktail and bread and butter (shame not brown but Ou Phrontis!) - £3.90 excellent value. Chuck and bacon salad was also good. Cheap, clean and done well. The place warrants 4* for effort and... More

Nice wine bars in Montpellier, but very expensive. My husband and I were astounded at the prices of just 'One pint of beer & a small glass' of wine £12. Montpellier park is nice.

Beautiful selection of shops and eateries in a lovely area. Foundation was my favourite shop with a selection of clothing and costume jewellery.

This is a lovely area of Cheltenham but goodness, the pavements are a disgrace. Walking in high heeled shoes is a danger.shops lovely, bars inviting.

We stayed in the Montpellier area which was just stunning. Well worth visiting and having a leisurely wander around the fabulous individual shops. Far better than the High Street which is much the same as you'd find in any town or city! Some of the shops were a little pricey but not all, and we found some great quirky items... More
