See "Playa Patagonia" with its 24 metre tunnel under the water to view sea lions swimming above your head and "Dragons of Komodo" for the infamous Komodo Dragons. At the "Spirit of Africa" you can see the breeding group of African elephants and at "Kingdom of the Wild" there's Zebras, Ostriches, White Rhinos, and Giraffes in a huge savannah style enclosure. i did the cheetah & tiger experience in colchester zoo and it was absolutely fantastic. to get that close to a large cat is a dream come true and i'd go back tomorrow if i could! the zoo is well laid out, it's lovely to walk around, there's loads to see and do, the staff are so friendly and helpful... more

I went to Colchester zoo a few days ago with my partner, who'd never been before, but I've been around 30 times before, but I’ve never been on a rainy day, which surprisingly was very enjoyable. Many animals weren’t enjoying the weather and staying indoors, but other like the seals, sea-lions and penguins were very active. The only disappointment for... more

Colchester zoo will take about 5 hrs to go round if you visit everything. its nicely laid out with plenty of food outlets , and some reasonable,we had a huge bacon n sausage bap for 1.60 ! or take a picnic and stop for a good lunch n rest your legs cos its a bit tiring. There are a few... more

When me and my family went out to colchester zoo for the day we were lucky because the weather was great. When we first got there we had to wait in a que for a while which was quite frustrating in the heat. But after that it was fantastic, the park is very clean and the animals are very exciting... more

Colchester zoo may not be the most famous zoo in Britain, but it is surely one of the best. Certainly if you are going to Colchester with children, this place is a must-visit. Hi! We went to Colchester zoo in February Half term and we had an excellent day. Even though we arrived at 9:30am the car park was filling up fast. So I would advise that in holidays you go early. Also the ticket queques were not very long and the cashiers were very swift. The zoo trails are easily laid out... more
