We visited today and had so much fun I didn't want to leave let alone my children. We pulled up and I was so excited I woke my children up, as we went in it was reasonable price and free for under 3's which I have two of so even better. There was lots of hands on things to do..feeding... More

Such a great afternoon, such a great place! Not even the rain could spoil the fun. Thank you Boydells.

We chose Boydells Farm for my son's 5th birthday initially for the value of money, but it turned out yesterday to be the best party and this was the main comment of the day from both parents and children. We had 90mins of jammed packed animal interaction and fun followed by a picnic which we provided and stream splashing. They... More

If you want to go see a real farm with real animals that doesn't feel like they just want your money this is the place to go. My 3 year old loved the farm and all the family who run it were really nice, you get to see lots of animals feed them and pick them up. Top tip is... More

What a great little place! Don't go here if you want a perfectly polished petting farm. What you get is Farmer Kiley and his colleagues introducing you to his animals in a way which was fun for both adults and kids. We took our 2.5yr old and she loved it. The close proximity to the animals and demonstrations, including milking... More

Recently attended a 4-yr olds Birthday party at Boydells and it was the most enjoyable party we have been to -both fun and educational. Farmer Kiley provided the right mix of factual info and comedy in his tour of Cows, Chickens, Goats, Ponies, Pigs and Llamas (days later, my wife and I are still tickled by his demonstration of 'how... What a great afternoon out. A really good insight into a working dairy farm and lots of opportunities for the kids to get hands on with the animals and help out with those farm chores. Kids will really love it and adults will too and everyone will learn a thing or three. Having a guided tour is a real benefit... More

It is an amazing hands on experience... More

Boydells Farm is a family run working farm just outside Braintree, we went on a term time friday afternoon and had a great time. We were taken round the farm by Kiley, the farmer, who has a natural talent for getting the children (and adults) involved and joining in, firstly we were introduced to some very young lambs which my... Have been to Boydells a couple of times now and have had a super time. It opens at 2pm to the public and an informal tour of the farm takes place not long after the doors open. I recommend you join the tour as the farmer makes it very funny and encourages the kids to get involved ie, how many... More
