Drove 50 miles to Harveys brewery but it was closed. Luckily we came to The Lewes Arms for lunch and had a couple of pints of Harvey's to go with very nice food. This is a really characterful pub and one I would be very happy to pass many an hour in.

Lively, quirky pub, with good atmosphere, serving a good range of well-kept real ales. Very popular, and can get too crowded in the evenings.

We visited on a Saturday evening as we were impressed with the variety and freshness of the specials menu on the outside. We opted for the fritto misto which included battered squid, prawns and cod goujons. The portions were plentiful and the food fresh and tasty. The meals are reasonably priced considering the size and ingredients. There is also a... More

Just returned from a scrumptious meal at the Lewes Arms, great choice and a energetic youthful vibe in the charm of a wonderful old boozer. Good price, tasty fresh and wholesome food and good beers too, very happy!

I went here to check out their Sunday lunch. Very good. I went for the lamb - fairly good but not as good as I make it at home! A variety of well-cooked vegetables including cauliflower cheese etc and generous portions. My partner had jerk chicken and rice which she said was tasty. A wide range of choices so I'd... More

Having been to this pub before and enjoyed the excellent ales, I returned recently with my husband and baby. It was a sunny day and the windows were open, the upstairs sun terrace was busy, but sadly we were annoyed by flies for the duration of our visit which was really irritating. Our drinks were great and served by friendly... More

Ate one of the best fish and chips I've ever had. Great friendly atmosphere. It's essentially a pub in a flat. Get the table by in the corner and read some old books.

We visited for lunch and were very happy with the beer, the excellent food and the friendly staff. The pub has a great atmosphere and is the real deal not some made over gastro-pub charging too much for too little!

(Sadly) We had just had a short stay at The Lewes Arms and we enjoyed the local ale, it's just awesome; and this ale itself, is worth a trip to lewes. The staff is very friendly and served all the people with humor and happiness. I hope that we'll come back soon.

We visited on weekend of major concert in lewes and the pub was very very busy. The staff were happy and engaged all customers in a happy helpful way making the service first class. There was over one hour wait for food however with good beer on hand this was not a problem. The food was well worth waiting for... More
