This was one of the highlights of my trip although I am not sure why. The trip on the tiny carriage was quick and fast (and cheap) and arrived from George street to a lovely park with a licenced restaurant/ cafe.

Worth the trip. Great view. Easy ride. Plus options at the top to explore the area more. Friendly staff.

I don't think can add much more to the other reviews except to reiterate how super the views are at the top but wish the railway could go just a bit slower so the journey lasts longer and I do agree that it is a little expensive but it really is unique and thank goodness they still run. So thank... More

Nice way to get up the cliff (steep old climb otherwise). There is more to do at the top of the West cliff. Really friendly people running the place as well.

This is another attraction that has changed in Hastings, gone are the days when the carriages had tanks under them the top one being filled with water to pull the other one up. Now like everything else has been modernised to run by motors and the tanks under the carriages removed. Another bit of history lost

We've been staying near Cliff Rly so the lift has been a practical way to get in and out of town. Bit expensive, you can only buy returns £2.50 per adult and £1.50 per child and it closes at 5.30pm which is a bit early in the middle of August.

The cliff railways in hastings are based on both hills ( East and west ) , the views from The top are amazing and beautiful - it's a very nice place to spend your day - used to enjoy it a lot when lived there :)

These two lifts are really one of the best things to do in Hastings. The west hill is the one you need for the smugglers adventure and the east hill is steeper and for the country park. The East is better in terms of the ride because the views are better. Very reasonable prices of £2.50 for a return and... More

Would of been a bit more enjoyable if it hadn't broke down 3/4s of the way up!! Stuck for at least 10 mins..emergency phone straight through to voice mail..but the sheer look of panic on the wife's face priceless don't let it put you off as the views once up the top amazing x
