I love using this lift. I live in hastings and I also suffer with a debilitating illness so using this lift saves me lots of pain, from walking up the hill. There is plenty of information on the walls and the staff always have a smile and are ready with directions for lost tourists. The lift itself, is always clean,... More

Went to Hastings for birthday. Very busy some pirate event, he wanted to go up on this railway thing, too high for me didn't like it. But really great views up and down. Not bad value either

I went on the East Hill railway which has lovely views out over the old town, the beach and sea. Very good value and saves using the steps.

The fare was not as steep as the incline. We parked by the castle to visit the ruins and used the lift down to the old town fishing area. This saved our legs and made more of a day out. The other lift goes up to the Country Park.

We visited both of these funicular railways. The views over the town are great and there is a lovely walk on the downs. A nice but of old fashioned charm. Reductions for over 60 at £1.50 return.

We took the East Hill cliff railways to the top. It was a quick, but nice ride, and very cheap. Do not bother with the stairs, take the railway. Also was nice to learn the history of it through the posters.

You get the most amazing views as you ascend on the wonderful West Hill Cliff Railway to see a new aspect of Hastings spread out in front of you - breathtaking! The open space of the country park is genuinely surprising, and provides a fabulous blast of fresh air. Enjoy walking back down through the Old Town to take in... More

The entrance was hidden in a sidestreet, we asked many people then found it, very short lane, but could save time, the ticket seller advised us that Hasting Castle closed because of low season, meant no need to take it, nice people.
