Was worried about visiting due to the many negative reviews. Went today with 9 year old. Yes -it is a bit dated but granddaughter found plenty to enthuse over. 2 exhibits are being restructured -but notices say this on them. The fish tanks and reptiles are all labelled and it is easy to identify the fish. The aquarium is quite... More

A nice and child-friendly venue, but overcrowded and overpriced. There is no time or place to quietly enjoy the beautiful marine world.

Enjoyed visiting - spent about an hour walking round looking at fish and reptiles. Did not see staff feeding/handling creatures as we were too early. Cost for entry for two teenagers and one adult was £21 (check online or Sussex attraction leaflet for money off entry coupons, range from £1 - £2 off).

We'd been down in camber for a long weekend and with the weather being bad one day three we decided to make the short journey to Hastings. Our children (6, 10 & 15) have always enjoyed sea life centres so we thought we'd give the aquarium a go. I can't fault the exhibits, the creatures on display were great and... More

We generally only go to aquariums when the weather is bad in the UK and this week we've been holidaying in Eastbourne and it's chucked it down. The aquarium is quite old and dated and in comparison to competitor aquariums we've been to in Scarborough, Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool etc it looks and feels very limited with not a lot to... The walk takes about and hour, but there was 7 of us, and it worked out about £5.34, which is nothing compared to what you get treated to. We travelled with 4 young children, aged from 9months to 10 yrs old, and they all enjoyed it so much, my little boy of 9 ( nearly 10 ) months old was... More

Quieter and less expensive than Sea life at Brighton this aquarium has lots of interesting tanks. It's not just fish there's a reptile section too with iguanas and snakes. Great walk through tunnel where the fish swim above and around you. nice little shop and cafe at the end and you can take your own souvenir photo.

My kids love going to aquariums and we've visited a range of them both home and abroad. We were on a simple UK beach holiday this year and I found there was here in case of the expected dodgy uk weather (which didn't happen!) So we made our way to Hastings anyway. It's not the biggest of seaside aquariums (such... More

I used to come to the Blue Reef when I was a child, you were able to do a lot more and used to be an outside area. The visit lasted in 30 minutes walking all the way round and looking at the fish/reptiles!
