Description: What connects Abba and a panty-less celebrity? Mount Everest and Tescos in...
What connects Abba and a panty-less celebrity? Mount Everest and Tescos in Hove? A stained wall and the genesis of a worldwide retail brand? What's the story behind a same-sex wedding in 1923...Britain's 'most useless' monarch...a certain Parisian radio station? Why is my charming Regency property crumbling? Only in Brighton is a vivid 80-minute guided walk - a curiously fact-filled and tongue-in-cheek look at the landmarks, past and present, that make Brighton a city like no other. For the visitor, it is an insider's introduction; for the hardened Brightonian, a revelation and celebration. This personal tribute cuts to the heart of a unique city in all its glory, shame and muesli. Tours most Fridays and Saturdays 7pm April-November. Check website to confirm dates. £8/6. Meet outside Al Duomo restaurant, by Royal Pavilion Shop. No need to book. Private tours available outside normal hours - email to ask.

Ric was an amazing guide and brought the City of Brighton and its history to life. Although we had been to Brighton many times, and moved here recently, he managed to create a storyline which pulled together the history of the city and its people from historic times, right up to the present day, illustrated with funny stories, and photos.... Very interesting walking tour highlighting some fascinating places and historic facts around the City centre and seafront. Even if you think you know Brighton well you'll love this tour. It only takes 80 minutes which is perfect and still leaves your evening free. Thank you Ric.

Fabulous evening! Ric is clearly well-experienced in developing, structuring and delivering tours. The tour included a nice variety of interesting stops and facts, some humour and a pleasant stroll through the lanes and alleys of Brighton (about 90 mins). As a Kemp Town resident, I was already aware of many of the facts but Ric delivered them in a fresh... More

Ric gave me a new view on the Brighton I've lived in for nearly 10 years. My eyes were opened to places I didn't know were there or places that I've casually strolled past without a clue about their history. Ric is funny, interesting and obviously loves this city for the fascinating and often eccentric place it is. A great... More

Even though we have lived in Brighton for years, this was an interesting tour with some quirky stop offs. Well, it is Brighton after all. Our almost grown-up children enjoyed it too. It's funny how you can miss the significance of things you've walked past on numerous occasions, so it was handy that Ric was there to point them all... More

Ric was firstly very efficient when I contacted him trying to book a tour for Monday the night before, he got back to me within hours and everything was arranged. We met him at the arranged time and that was the beginning of our fantastic tour. He organised it really well and had a file with pictures to show us... More

Really enjoyed this tour, lighthearted but still loads of interesting and unusual facts about Brighton. This tour was a great way to spend 90 mins with my parents who were down visiting , worth doing for those like me who live in Brighton as well as for visitors from outside the town.
