Volks is also unique (Brighton has a lot of unique things). This electric railroad from the late 1800's is a wonderful way to ride from Brighton Pier to the Marina. Kids love it! (And no, you can't see the topless beach from the train.)

I did tell the lady that last time I was on... More

Quite expensive for a quick drive down the front - not enough room for the inevitable buggies - surely they can add another carriage just for them?

Decided to have a trip along to marina so hopped on the Volks Railway. Drops of a couple of minutes walk from marina. Something a bit different to the bus.

We liked the little railway. It doesn't go far but we enjoyed the ride and saved our legs! For the next few months there's a sand sculpture display at the end of the line close to the marina and there's a discount ticket you can buy for the train journey and admission to the display.

It was such fun travelling on this little train . The only disappointment was the destination. The Marina was a real let down and not worth visiting.

We visited Brighton today to go to the Sand Sculptures exhibition at Black Rock .. We got the train to Brighton and walked as far as the aquarium which was far enough for our 4 year old. This was a great way to travel - cost-effective and fast. Our little boy loved it too. You can get off halfway also... More
