We caught the train from town to the marina and back. It was a really fantastic journey on this historic train which has been lovingly preserved. The staff were all so friendly and helpful and the train drivers take their job very seriously and were so professional....announcing stations and giving passengers advice. It is something that all visitors to Brighton... More

If you're looking for the old-fashioned seaside holiday glamour and an escape from the busy Brighton pier, take a ride with Volks Railway! Though the ride on the charming little railway only takes mere half an hour of your day, it's still a long trip into history. The sounds, the smell of ozone..shame the sights are partially left behind metal... More

I visited Brighton on a business trip with mixed feelings about the town, but noticed the Volks Railway, and decided it must be worth a trip. On that particular day there had been some technical difficulties and the first train did not run until quite late, but it was well worth the wait. I was the only passenger at one... More

One of the great things that makes Brighton different from the rest is of course the sea front. The history of the Volks Railway if you look it up is amazing, rich, and reflects the greatness of past times. And that's just it ... The Volks Railway is now a poor and sad reminder of something that was once great.... More

Fun time for the whole family. On a sunny day can be the best ride in Brighton. Sweet and not too expensive. My son loved it.

A ride on Britain's first electric railway is a must-do. All the carriages are antique and the eletric motors are original, the Victorians built things to last! Built by Volks to demonstrate the versatility of electricity, it has been delighting visitors for over a century as it trundles along the beach from the pier to the marina. Great for all... More

We always stay at the east of Brighton and use the little train as our prefered transport to the pier.
