This oldest historical electric railway runs easterly from adjacent to the pier and the Brighton Wheel along the rear of the beach to the car park that is about 800 yards from the marina. It is a nice relaxing ride that runs past the Naturist part beach and saves all that walking if you wish to visit the marina. It... More

One of the best views from any railway journey and a nice way to rest your legs whilst having an ice cream. I can see why some people think it is pricey, but then Brighton is quite expensive and it will need money to be maintained.

The Volks railway runs from the east side of the pier and takes you close to the marina and its attractions it is a pleasurable walk one way but can be a bit tiring there and back so the railway is a nice pleasurable way to get back and save your pins worth a trip.

We enjoyed our trip on the train all the staff were very friendly and we thought it was good value for money. The train it self was in a good state of repair and it was a nice way to get to the Marina without walking.

We took this railway whilst visiting Brighton and found when we supposedly reached the Marina stop it took us at least another 5 - 10 mins walk to get to the marina shops etc.

We had a couple of hours to 'kill' and decided for a laugh to try this having seen it chugging up and down many a time before. It is great value and runs from near the Pier to the 'new' Marina. Lovely experience.

This was very good value for money - commentary on the way. There was a stop half way to Blackrock car park (end of the line) where you could get off and rejoin later. Thoroughly enjoyable, with covered wagons, so OK in the rain.

We caught the train from town to the marina and back. It was a really fantastic journey on this historic train which has been lovingly preserved. The staff were all so friendly and helpful and the train drivers take their job very seriously and were so professional....announcing stations and giving passengers advice. It is something that all visitors to Brighton... More

If you're looking for the old-fashioned seaside holiday glamour and an escape from the busy Brighton pier, take a ride with Volks Railway! Though the ride on the charming little railway only takes mere half an hour of your day, it's still a long trip into history. The sounds, the smell of ozone..shame the sights are partially left behind metal... More
