If you can't find something unique in the lanes then you have no taste and no imagination. Can't think of too many places I've been in the world were shopping was more fun and more unique – The food choices were amazing in the amount of pubs with incredible ambience were plentiful – highly recommendable seafood restaurant called Riddle and... In this day and age, when every High Street appears to be cloned with its neighbours it is a joy to discover The Lanes. The shops here comprise mostly of individual retailers making this a great area for browsing, buying and people watching. The many cafes and restaurants provide plenty of choices too.

A really interesting sightseeing and shopping experience in the narrow lane ways just behind the seaside promenade of Brighton. The extremely narrow walkways are full of interesting shops selling jewellery, antiques and gifts for the hundreds of holiday makers walking the streets. There are also lots of nearby restaurants and pubs.

Individualistic shops in a pedestrianised environment. More up market than North Laines with more jewellery shops. Combine a visit here with North Laines and Churchill Square shopping arcade.

I had heard about this area and not being an avid shopper I was not all that keen to go. What a very different area to shop and some of the lanes are are so small you have to move into a door or back o a wall to allow people to pass. From a not so avid shopper I... More

Everyone should visit at least once. Posh bit and quirky bit. The chilli Shop is a must visit. Watch out for parking fees!

Lovely to walk around and browse but shops are pretty expensive. Worth a visit if you're looking for a special, not on the high street, gift but North Laine is much better, and cheaper.
