The Lanes reminds me of Diagon Alley (Harry Potter)- it feels almost magical! Narrow passageways, quaint shops, lovely shopkeepers. We saw retro cafes with pastries and the most delicious scents. I love the traditional fudge and fudge ices in the handmade candy stores :D A treasure trove of cool knickknacks in the windows. Total eye candy!! Lots of the things... More

The Lanes have plenty of character with a good choice of shops, including a sprinkling of chain stores. A lot are specialist shops, so to make your visit really worthwhile, you need to have a good gift list to hand.

Victorian cobbled streets and lots and lots of small shops to peruse... (Leave Credit Card at home unless you are after some top notch jewellery!) One shop worth a visit is the Bloomingtails Of Brighton .. The only thing that's stops me visiting more often, is my lack of an unlimited budget, and a lack of wardrobe space. This is me, a man who dislikes shopping saying this. I just love the relaxed feel of the lanes. There's the cafes's, the restaurants and the amazing choice of shops. But my vice is the retro clothing shops.... More

Interesting area liked the narrow lanes but rather too many jewellery shops for me. Worth a visit though.

Love the area, it's worth a walk even if shopping is not for you. The coffee shops provide good quality food and the shops offer different gift ideas!
