I have lived in Brighton for most of my life and thought it about time I visited Preston Manor, as a resident I only had to pay half price, but in my opinion the Manor is well worth the full admission fee. I visited with my eldest son and we both found the manor very interesting with very helpful and... More

I visited with my class of 8 year olds for a.Victorian day experience. We all dressed as Victorians and were met by Mrs. Story the housekeeper and James the footman. The staff remained in role for the whole visit and treated the adults as badly as the children (who loved it). The children were applying for positions to work at... More

What a fantastic place to go to meet Father Christmas. I went with 5 kids from 3-9yo and 2 adults. You may see many people pretending to be father christmas over the festive period but my daughter told me that this is where the real one comes. (same santa as the Royal Pavilion has.) She wasn't sure about the elves... More

Informative, helpful staff help invoke a real sense of history in this marvellous house and garden. Others have described the wonderful ambience and decor which, together with the anecdotes from staff brought this place to life. Used as a source to inspire imaginative writing it really came up trumps. I agree that if this was NT it would be bursting... More

I haven't been back since 2011 for a Ghost Tour and although not at all impressed with the steep £15 charge, was thrilled and suitably spooked by the evening. Our guide ( Mary) was convincing in her Victorian dress and bonnet and had a great rapport with her audience, giving a clear history of the house and its long gone... More

Just a short bus ride from the centre of Brighton, Preston Manor is an unheralded gem. While the building is not without interest the real attraction is that the ground and first floor furnishing are virtually intact from about 1900. Such a change from so many places where the original furnishings have gone and all that is left is an... More

If you want inspiration for your home decor go to preston manor! I loved it! I took so many pictures and got so many ideas. Its wonderful to see an old stately home- the gardens were so beautiful too. I loved every minute. I took my granddad and he has had three hip operations so hes not great with stairs... More

Fascinating building - you can see what life was like below stairs in the Victorian/Edwardian eras. Preston Manor lies outside the main drag of Brighton, but does not deserve to be ignored.

The evening seemed to start off ok as the timings and groups were organised well, but I'm afraid it seemed to be a showcase for the group leaders who work for Preston Manor and for the people who paid good money to go on this event to sit and listen and watch them!! We were taken to three different locations... More
