Reminds me of Camden in London, back in the day. Great atmosphere and some nice stuff in amongst the tat. Very busy on the bank holiday weekend we went but not stupidly packed so you couldn't walk comfortably. A real find after the commercialised Lanes which is full of high street shops. Not great for ambling with kids as they... More

The whole area in and around North Laine is lovely - buzzing atmosphere, nice backstreet pubs, lovely coffee shops, quirky gift and food shops. It was just a nice experience. The Laine felt smaller than I had expected - it's a lovely victorian narrow street, but when there are lots of people (always) it can be a bit of a... More

I love this area of Brighton as it is full of small independent interesting shops, cafes and restaurants and is a welcome break from the bland chain stores that have taken over so many of our towns and cities.

The North Laine, as its referred to, is an area north of North St and East of Queens Rd in Brighton. It's like an "English Souk". In that if its for sale, you can probably see it here somewhere. It's what (along with the nightlife) makes Brighton such a vibrant and buzzing City to live in and visit. It can... More

Great choice of wines, love their Sancerre. We had a few light bites/starters to share so we could benefit from a little taste of many lovely things. Ended up ordering a second portion of the tempura prawns because they were so light and delicious. In summary, fine food and wine served by friendly and efficient staff. Sharing tables with other... Who would love walking through the Lanes for hours on end. The oldy worldy antique shops, jewellers, Choccywockadoodaa, resturants ( my favourite Riddle and Fin Oyster Bar). I love it there and so does my young son. You can't come to Brighton without walking through the famous Lanes.

Whatever the weather you can always enjoy yourself in North Laine. The shops and cafes are very varied and often quirky and if you can't find anything you want to buy, you can always spend your time people watching. Life's never dull in this area of Brighton.
