You can NOT go to Brighton without visiting North Laine. I have been many times as my daughter lives in Brighton. If any of you know what Cambden in North London is like, this is similar but better. This is such a chilled out and cool place to potter about. Hippys, Mods , Punks and just Brightonian Eccentrics in general... More

North Laine is great for both window-shopping and people watching! It is a true gem and well worth visiting even if you are only in Brighton for a short while! There is a great range of shops and cafes to suit all tastes. This is what makes Brighton!

We window shopped on afternoon ofFriday 20 Feb, quiet so we could have a good look around and find shops we wanted. Then shopped on Saturday 21 Feb. Bought Boots at the Vegetarian shop and brooches from the street market. Looked in the material shops, very expensive, but then fabric is nowadays. Had afternoon tea in vintage tea shop, can't... Plenty of opportunities to people watch here while looking through all the interesting shops. Definitely worth a visit here on your walks around Brighton, go here rather than the lanes if you can only do one.

The area that makes Brighton unique - a quarter full of quirky independent retailers, pubs, cafes and restaurants. It is the North Laines, that makes Brighton, Brighton.

We loved it here, a great record shop 'Across the Tracks', and second hand shop 'Snoopers' Attic'. Please BEWARE we were scammed by an Oscar winning actress who pleaded our help as she was stranded with her sons (having been to A & E), broken down, and needed money for the train. Thankfully we only gave her £20 and subsequently... More

So full of variety! A must go and browse place with lots of different shops for all tastes. Even if you have no money to buy, it's a very interested place to mooch about and take in all the sights (people, shops & goods)

I loved that there was awesome shopping close to the sea but not over-priced. Hundreds of hidden gems to be found in a very trendy area. Any self-proclaimed hipster or person searching for one of a kind items would love it here! Way better than The Lanes.

This area used to be a rather run down part of the city but not any more. With its wide range of quirky independent shops, street markets & wonderful variety of cafe's & bars it would be a shame to visit Brighton & not take a walk around the narrow streets & lanes. You can see the shop where the... More
