Great views.

Nice to get out and up into the fresh air. Footpaths clearly marked and easily accessible. Parking available right at the top too.

After enjoying a great meal at the Half Moon in Plumpton on a beautiful sunny day we stopped to enjoy the views. English countryside at its best. Scenes straight out of my childhood memory & books. Sans the football stadium of course.

Well worth a stop to admire the view. The walks along the ridge both east and west are very pleasant if not quite windy.

... to take your breath away! Nice drive over the Beacon and down to the pretty village of Ditchling. Get pleasantly lost in E Sussex, try to get to Ridgeview Estates to sample some wine, then off to Offham (try and find the farm shop - does AMAZING pies)... Then head to Lewes for a pleasant afternoon of driving with... More

Beautiful landmark just outside Brighton. Fantastic views all round, on a clear day of course. Only spoiled by the Amex Stadium, home of Brighton and Hove Albion. Sorts the men from the boys on the annual London/Brighton Cycle ride. National Trust charge for non members.

The only way to pay for the car park appears to be by phone or online, yet mobile reception is minimal to non-existent. Ended up leaving note in windscreen and worrying that we would get a ticket. Somewhat spoiled what was supposed to be a relaxing country walk. Views are magnificent, signposting poor/minimal and no toilet facilities

I love visiting the beacon and walking along the Downs-on a clear day in gives such magnificent views to the north. Walk along the South Downs Way in either direction is incredibly rewarding with open countryside, downland and a range of beautiful plants and flowers. One of the great joys of this site is that it has a regular bus... More

We used this road to get round a problem on the A27. The views from the top were inspiring and not for the faint hearted. You cannot fail to be impressed.

The walk up to Ditchling Beacon is beautiful and well worth the climb as the views from the top are quite breath-taking.
