Ok I admit I haven't been to many theatres but I really didn't expect to find this lovely little place in brighton. We arrived nice and early so was able to grab a drink in the bar which was right behind our seat and sat down to enjoy the surroundings before everyone arrived. The show was amazing as expected. Only... More

Beautiful smallish theatre in a great central location near Brighton Pavilion. It puts on a good variety of performances during the year ranging from Hairspray to Bad Jews. We saw this latter play which turned out to be mildly amusing and not "hilarious" as advertised. So the thing is to certainly check out what is on if you are going... More

A lovely old theatre venue providing fantastic atmosphere spoilt by the staff in the dress circle marching up and down the rear corridor with no purpose in life. Most distracting for those sitting on the back row. At the interval a very serious usher was standing at the front door pouncing on discerning clientele with their drinks ordering them back... More

Part of the ATG Theatre Group, Theatre Royal Brighton is a beautiful venue for plays, musicals etc. It is fairly small but offers great views & is a wonderful example of Victorian architecture.

Had read mixed reviews on the play previously, thoroughly enjoyed the show. Amazing set, well written and acted, loved the additions of shanties, humour and the dog. Go see.

The Theatre Royal Brighton is part of the ATG Theatre Group putting on, week in week out, plays and theatrical events for the delectation of the Brighton public. It is a small theatre but that makes it a wonderful venue as the stage is clearly visible from all levels. The staff are helpful and knowledgeable. This building is quite beautiful... More

It is such a wonderful building in centre of Brighton easily accessed by public transport. It really gives you the authentic theatre experience of yester year. We have seen many productions pre and post long run. There are great discounts to be had if you join the ATG ticket thing which the theatre runs(they are part of a group). I... More

Went with a friend to see a production of The Shawshank Redemption at Theatre Royal. I had forgotten quite how beautiful the building is, the original interior is décor is breathtaking. The performance matched the surroundings and we left feeling that we had enjoyed a wonderful evening :)

Though the the show was almost booked out, we were given excellent seats, from which we had a good view of the interesting show. The group performing was very innovative, using acrobatic elements combined with techniques from improv theatre for a play set in the latter 19th century! Hence you get the atmosphere of a dignified old theatre with its... More
