There are a lot of good things about this theatre, there really are. It is a lovely space, over 200 years old with plenty of original features (and those features protected by being Grade II listed). It's big enough to attract good shows, but small enough to still be an intimate venue. Good sight-lines from where I sat (circle) and... More

This Theatre has a great feeling to it from the moment that you view it from outside to the moment that you step inside. An old style theatre with lovely architecture - not too many around like this nowadays. Good staff and customer service. The bar is fairly priced against many pub prices. Drawback - extra booking charges and then... More

At near £65 for two ticket stop see Saturday Night Fever (good show) including the obligatory restoration donation I can't help but wonder when that money will get to the theatre. It's a lovely venue, intimate. But it's also dumb numbing and damn uncomfortable. Really could do with a refresh.

Me and my fiancee went to watch "Dead Simple" and wish that was the case in finding the Royal Brighton, but with limited directions or signs directing us to the actual theatre we were late and ended up parking a few streets back as we couldn't find parking. Terrible seats with the pillar in direct sight it felt like watching... More

From the down-at-heel-decor to the non existent legroom, give this place a miss. I was aware the seats I had booked were described as "limited legroom" (gallery back row) so I was expecting to be squeezed, but I think "no legroom" would be more accurate. You need to splay your legs to fit in (and I am only 5'4") meaning... More

Quaint small theatre but it was difficult to follow the plot line as the seats were so uncomfortable. Could do with re-upholstering. People were fidgeting and complaining in the interval.

I have been to this theatre several times, and have never been disappointed, the staff are so pleasant and welcoming. The productions are comprehensive, serious drama's opera, musicals.pre london runs, something for everyone. The theatre is steeped in history,on many of the walls are adorned with photographs of famous actors from the past and the present.

"Dead Simple"....very good performance of the play based on Peter James book. Full house on a Wednesday afternoon. Well worth seeing. The theatre is atmospheric, intimate and quaint. If you are above average height do not book a Royal Circle front row seat. There is no leg room at all!! An uncomfortable couple of hours! Bar drinks are, as usual,... More

This was an amazing theatre, so beautiful and a great place to see some wonderful productions take place. We saw a school production which was out on s brilliantly and I am told that the staff were excellent.

Murder Mystery fans will love this drama from ( Novelist Peter James ) Not for the faint-hearted. Prepare yourself for gorey scenes, several shocks with suspense. (some bad language). Very well acted - leading lady was Tina Hobley - (Holby City). If you cannot get a ticket at Brighton hopefully you can travel to another venue it will be well... More
