My partner and I were both very impressed with the site. The whole complex is very well organised, the ruined abbey, the gatehouse, a gift shop, museums and a cafe (the food is not great) set things off brilliantly. It is a superb visit for families and children will love a lot of the interactive stuff in the museums. We... more

We went to Battle for the day predominantly to go to Yesterdays World which is right opposite the abbey but werent too sure whether to go into the abbey itself. I'm very glad we did though! If you like English history, this is the place for you. If you're lucky enough to get good weather, it is a superb walk around the Battlefield listening to the audio tour. The visitor centre is first rate and the food is even good in the cafe. Highly recommended. more

A brand new visitor center has opened on the site, which apparently cost £2.6 million. With prior knowledge of the new visitor center (and its cost), I expected much more, to be honest. The... more

We spent the day in Battle on 2-10-04. Entrance price was fair for the attraction. Once paid you are given a hand held phone/remote that talks you through the site at your own pace. You can choose to listen to different sides of the story and then compare. A covered room explains the lead up to and the actual Battle... more
