Not sure why it's rated so highly, far better beaches on the Gower peninsular. Be prepared for a very long walk which starts in the car park. Many of the ticket machines only take credit cards which because of the poor phone signal only work intermittently, leading to frustration and queues. If you want to go for a swim and... More

As a family we've visited Holkham Beach on several occasions. What brings us back each time is the unspoilt beauty of the beach and surrounding area. Visitors should be wary, however, that the unspoilt nature of the beach means that there are no amenities in the immediate vicinity. The nearest toilets are in Holkham village, which is at least a... We visited with our grandchildren ( 5 & 2) on the last day of our holiday, as the sun had come out. From the length of the car park, it had been a busy day! We got a space near the top, and so the walk to the beach was not so long. The boys were happy to splash around... More

Much further from car park than I realised so quite tired kids. Huge beach when you get there with very shallow warm water for a long way out. Very safe for kids. There was an ice cream van the day we were there at the start of the beach path, but no other facilities.

Naturally unspoilt beach, with sand dunes and lovely sea. We only stayed here for a few hours but if we had more time we would of spent the day exploring the bay. We will most definitely revisit when we visit North Norfolk again

A lovely walk along the beach, and return walk through the woods, after a lovely lunch in Holkham Hall. I suggest parking next to the beach.

If you like your beach of the sandy variety with the occasional dunes then this is the beach for you. There is nothing else there - no cafes, no equipment rental and no toilets. We spent the whole day there and had a great time. Take a windbreak, lots of beach games and some food and drink and you'll be... More

Holkham beach in Norfolk is one of the largest sandy beach areas of North Norfolk. There is a charge for car-parking and no toilet facilities. The beach is vast, clean, dog-friendly, horse-friendly and has grass and sand-dune areas, as well as wooded areas too for kids and pets to play in.

Amazing beach! Beautiful during the day with a long walk over soft sand to the beach. Stunning scenery. Beautiful sunset. A must for all. (Take some fish & chips from the actual town which is a 5 min drive away....was perfect!)
