I visited the Abbey as part of a coach tour. We were given a guide who showed us around & gave us a full history of the Abbey. He was extremely informative & knowledgeable. We were given time to look at the amazing architecture & its surroundings. Definitely worth a visit.

This abbey was definitely worth another look - you can tell the place is loved and rightly so, it's full of history. You are given a warm welcome and information if you want it (or browse alone) but both times we have visited, there was an organist playing quietly. I would like to thank him for this service rendered to... More

An extremely beautiful building. On line guides suggest it's not open on a Saturday but we went and luckily it was. Very worthwhile and a must see if you're in Sherborne.

This is one of Britain's outstanding buildings in a beautiful setting. It is also friendly, low key and completely uncommercialised. I have visited many times since I was christened there on VE Day 1945. There is always a warm welcome and often something on the events diary to keep me happy. On this trip it was a Bach choral concert.... More

What a fabulous place. So light and airy with its mellow stone. Not such a large abbey but very impressive. Grounds are lovely .

beautiful abbey with a feeling that it is there for using, much preferred to Salisbury cathedral which we visited and where we felt obliged to pay for admission, which is disguised as an donation. really helpful volunteer staff, who were there to answer all our questions.

In the centre of Sherborne and next to Sherborne School, a lovely abbey with the most magnificent vaulted ceiling. Despite the fact that they were preparing for a service for the girls from Sherborne School, we were made most welcome and not hurried in any way. Well worth a visit.
