Keeping things short, beautifully inspiring architecture. How do they make buildings like this?! Amazing. Lovely piece of British heritage. Friendly atmosphere which is unusual for a church. Allowed in more places than most churches allow, although still wasn't allowed upstairs and in the bellfry. My girlfriend and I take our Slrs everywhere and there was no restriction on taking photos... More

Set in a beautiful location slightly away from the main shopping street the Abbey stands out with the reddish stone used in it's construction. Entry is free but a donation to the upkeep of this lovely building ought to be offered and if appropriate Gift Aided. The columns and ceiling are stunning as is the stained glass and decoration particularly... More

The abbey is stunningly beautiful. Although small its proportions are perfect. There is an almost palpable sense of calm and serenity when entering the abbey. We inadvertently visited whilst a service was taking place and it was a joy to see such a glorious building thriving as a centre of worship which it has been for over a thousand years.... More

The abbey was so interesting, it had beautiful architecture, and everything about it was lovely, they were so clever those days to build such a beautiful building, the same goes for any Abbey, Catherdrals and churches. It had a gift shop there, which is always worth looking at. We love to look at the organ pipes and organs. The Abbey... More

Sherborne Abbey has a fantastic ceiling and windows. It is beautiful. The history of the abbey is also interesting - a free leaflet is available when you arrive. Don't miss the exposed grave of the Anglo-Saxon king buried under the floor (covered with glass) in the far corner from the abbey's entrance. The volunteer guides were very helpful and knowledgeable... More
