There's a lot to see inside and its history makes it a must see. It's got more about it than many bigger places.

Whats to say yet another example of a fine medieval Abbey but in a beautifull warm stone. Even some 14th Cent Glass Cromwells mob, both of them, missed.

Sherborne, with its beautiful Abbey and individual shops is one of the loveliest towns to both visit and live in. Because it has not been overtaken by huge numbers of high street branded shop, it retains its elegance and individuality and therefore remains vibrant with many independent traders. In addition, many people live in the centre and therefore it is... More

The Abbey is surely one of the best things in Sherborne a real attraction and a joy to visit. Wonderful for that special Wedding as we experienced last year, truly a credit to the town.

The Abbey is right in the centre of town and full of history. A must visit if you are in Sherborne. Take your time and enjoy the hidden little corners and admire the fan ceiling.

Have visited the Abbey a couple of times or more. My immediate impression on the first visit was that of feeling welcome and of sensing the whole building was cared for by those who appreciated it and desired to share its history, heart-beat and inner essence with those who visited. The displays, various centres of interest and such locations as... More

Loved Choral Evensong sung by the very accomplished abbey choristers in the beautiful context provided by the inside of the Abbey.

I grew up in Sherborne and greatly enjoyed my weekly trips to this Abbey for the school sermon. The architecture is incredible and the history goes back hundreds of years... as a child it entertained and educated me, as an adult it amazed and calmed me. If you're in Sherborne then this place is definitely worth a visit.
