Not the most thrilling of places you'll ever visit, but there was just about enough things to keep my 7 year old son interested and it kept us out of the rain for a while at a reasonable price when compared to other attractions.

We took our 3 1/2 year old nephew/grandson to see the Dinosaur Museum! He absolutely loved it especially the outside area leading up to the museum where they have 2 huge dinosaurs! He is dinosaur mad so walked around eyes wide open calling himself a T Rex! There is a lot of information to read about, a lot to look... More

Took the two boys there as part of the gold card deal. Small and compact. Lots to see and read. Nothing to tell an 'expert 8 year old dinosaur lover' that he didn't already know. Steep stairs to first floor. Small cinema equally hard to access. All-in-all, it was actually pretty good when considered that the premises are its biggest... More

I decided to take me three children here yesterday (Monday 20th July) it was the first day of the summer holidays and it was raining - typical, my children are ages 7,3 and 1 so thought this should entertain them all to some degree - I have lived in dorchester my whole life and I have never visited this museum....... I had low hopes given the number of poor reviews. It is not as bad as many people make out. A little over priced maybe. My son is dinosaur mad and loved the models. The information contained some interesting bits I didn't know. The cinema film was old but had a good mix of dinosaur animation and science.

We visited the museum with great excitement as it was listed as one of the top 10 things to do. The place itself is located down a side street with no parking on site. It was £30 for a family of 5,which in attraction terms isn't expensive until you see inside the building. It is small dark and dingy. There... More

Unless your children can read and are really into dinosaurs and fossils do not visit this place, 2 adults a 4 and 2 year old best part of £20! We were here for 45 minutes, what a waste of money!

my little boy was very excited to visit the museum whilst we were on holiday in Dorchester, but was very disappointed as so was I when we realised how expensive it was to enter for how little there was about dinosaurs. We spent less then an hour in the building. My son wanted to purchase a toy from the gift... More

I wouldn't bother going, 2 rooms downstairs and 2 rooms upstairs. A real disappointment for us. I would have been embarrassed if I was the person behind the counter asking for the entry fee.

Our 3 year old son loves dinosaurs so visiting the fossil capital of England a trip here was a promise. The place appeared modest from the outside but we assumed there'd be more to it and didn't complain at the £20 fee. We soon realised there wasn't. Our son nearly knocked over the 15 foot plastic dinosaur in the entrance... More
