this place is a rip off, it cost a lot to enter and is set up like a primary school display board, its good for little kids only!

I have been a mum for 11 years now, we've visited some fantastic places catering for children and parents but this honestly must be the worst. I wasn't exactly expecting The National History Museum but I also wasn't expecting to visit someone's front room either. My kids are 11, 7 and 5 and even the 5 year old said it... More

We were in the area visiting family and decided to take the children for a treat. First I should say the children enjoyed it however we felt the experience was over priced for what you get. It is a small establishment and the exhibits look dated and are in need of TLC. We wouldn't visit again as we just don't... More

There's are 3 rooms to see. The whole place is very dated, it looks like they've made their displays using Microsoft word and the 'cinema' is a 32" TV at best, with a couple of benches. Waste of time.

Parking was difficult, although long stay car park close by at £2.30 for 3 hours. Entrance fee a bit high at £23 for 2 adults & 2 children. Hundreds of exhibits with some large models. A Film show was also available, but boring for the younger one's. Designed with kids in mind, so you had to plenty or variety &... More

My son (who's 5) is absolutely in love with dinosaurs. We went here especially to visit this museum and we were so disappointed. I can only describe it as looking at children's work on a classroom wall who have been studying dinosaurs. We were in and out in less than 30 minutes and even my son wasn't that impressed. Apparently,... More

Genuinely baffled by the poor reviews. Went here with a 3 year old boy and a 4 year old girl and they have a fabulous time - were here for about an hour - loads of stuff to do despite the small size of it - loads of interactive bits to do including mystery boxes, colour changing dinosaurs and fossils... So small, went round the museum within 10-15 minutes.. Waste of money and time!! I personally wouldn't pay £2 to go in there let alone £6.99

Was a little disappointed as the web site made the life size models sound better than they were. It's quite small and doesn't take long to go round. Some good info but quite dated. My 2 yr old loved it though. Lots of interactive things to do. No parking but a few public ones nearby
