I had good memories of this museum from visiting as a child, and decided to return as it was pouring down outside. I wish I hadn't bothered. £14 for 2 adults and it took all of 10 minutes to go around. The displays were simplistic and aimed at young children, so why not just advertise it as a childrens' attraction?... More

We made a day of visiting Dorchester and covered all 5 museums the same day. This we felt was the best value for money and kept the kids amused. I knew this wasn't going to be like the Natural History Museum in London (on our list to do!) as it was going to be in a much smaller location. My... More

We went last August and my 5 year old daughter loved it, surprised by the negative reviews, maybe you need a 5 year old with you when you visit. If she is happy we are happy. There was lots for her to do

Every review here is right in their own way. I would have been pretty annoyed if I'd come here without reading these reviews and was expecting something like The Natural History Museum in London. And yes, it's pricey. We went on a rainy day with very young kids and it helped us kill 40mins. It feels like a school show... More

We 'did' this museum as part of a ticket that gives access to 5 museums in Dorchester - can be used over a week, I believe, so it gives some useful rainy day options. The museum is small, but informative, with a quiz for the kids, and a lot of interesting displays including a fair amount of interactive stuff, videos,... More

We were given free entry to the museum. In return, I would dearly love to give it a good review, but I really can't. It's awful. Read the terrible reviews, I agree with all of them. I'd be furious if I'd paid the entry fee.

We (two adults and three children aged 5, 3 and 1). The museum itself is okay. The children enjoyed looking at and touching the big dinosaurs, and my eldest liked the quiz. However in my opinion the negatives far outweigh the positives. The museum is very small and gets cramped easily. It would be impossible to take a buggy around... More

This cost £26 for 3 adults and a 3 year old child. This museum is made up of 4 very small rooms with hardly anything to do in any of them. We found this museum was out dated and boring for children. We literally stayed about half an hour and even dragged this out because we had paid to get... More

An interesting way to spend a morning with my 3 year old. Lots of information & facts on display. The quiz was good fun even I learned a thing or two.
