We are now open every day from 11am to 5pm. Entry is £10 per person. Entry to the Gallery is free. Due to deep water no children under 14 years of age. No dogs. Described as one of the most beautiful and unique sculpture parks in the United Kingdom, Sculpture by the Lakes marries the soft beauty of nature's wild river landscape with the more formal presentation of monumental outdoor sculpture. It is that combination of art and landscape that inspires Sculpture by the Lakes. Whether it is work on a monumental scale that relates to its environment, or smaller works, the sculptures of Simon Gudgeon are perfectly placed in the delicately nurtured natural landscape to visually enhance their surroundings. The effect is a balance, a harmony of form and context where the experience is central. Without walls, without interpretation, each person can engage with the art and the ever-changing environment.

This garden and surrounding countryside is awesome and around every corner another wonderful sculpture. We took friends last weekend who both have very stressful lives and we watched them relax before our very eyes.

We had heard that this was a lovely place to visit and having an interest in art and nature, my wife and I decided to visit. We weren't disappointed. The art was fantastic and interestingly placed to reveal what it was saying. The grounds were well kept and there seemed to be a balanced throughout. We managed to glimpse a... More

What a great way to spend the day, we went with friends and took a picnic. We think that taking a picnic is an absolute must! There are plenty of secluded places to have your picnic, some of the areas have tables ....not your rickety picnic tables either, I hasten to add! Also don't forget your camera as the photo... More

My friend and I have visited on a number of occasions throughout the seasons and the garden just keeps on getting better and better. Such a beautiful, interesting and inspiring place to spend your time and all the staff are friendly, funny and help make each visit special.

The park has been beautifully landscaped and covers 26 acres, which include North Lake,Rainbow Lake and Artist's Pool,as well as a magnificent garden area.Numbers to the park are limited and children under 14 not allowed.Although we visited in mid summer on a lovely fine day the park still had a peaceful and tranquil feel about it.There is no set route so... So so beautiful, the sculptures were amazing and on such lovely grounds. We had a little picnic sat on the grass in the sun and it was a lovely day. Got a bit chased by a slightly territorial swan but that was hilarious! Definitely not to be missed.

Sculpture by the Lakes is situated in Tincleton between Dorchester and Bovington with a small sign outside. On entering there is someone to meet you to help you park and to give you information on the park. Numbers are restricted each day, no children under 14 due to the deep and fast flowing water and if you book online you... More

Read about it and thought it might be interesting. I was wrong, it was amazing, fascinating, inspiring and awe-inspiring. The sculptures are perfectly arrayed along a walk around rectangular lakes. Some are actually in the lakes, others on the ground. They varied in size, but the biggest were about 10 feet tall (3 metres plus). Highly recommend you visit. If... More
