During our Winter Opening months (1st October to 30 March) entry fee to the Sculpture Park is £5 per person and no need to book. Entry to the Galleries is free. Due to deep water no children under 14 years of age. No dogs. Described as one of the most beautiful and unique sculpture parks in the United Kingdom, Sculpture by the Lakes marries the soft beauty of nature's wild river landscape with the more formal presentation of monumental outdoor sculpture. It is that combination of art and landscape that inspires Sculpture by the Lakes. Whether it is work on a monumental scale that relates to its environment, or smaller works, the sculptures of Simon Gudgeon are perfectly placed in the delicately nurtured natural landscape to visually enhance their surroundings. The effect is a balance, a harmony of form and context where the experience is central. Without walls, without interpretation, each person can engage with the art and the ever-changing environment.

What a wonderful place. We arrived and were greeted by the most charming lady which was just the start of the most wonderful visit to this hidden gem. What more, it was even better that no children were permitted to the site to detract from its splendour - what a brilliant business decision. All the other staff we encountered on... More

Very impressed with our first visit here today having been recommended by friends. Lovely sculptures to be viewed as one wanders around the lakes. Lots of little places to stop, sit and admire plus picnic tables here and there...if only we had taken a picnic!! There are no refreshments other than those you bring yourselves and a downside (although very... More

Lovely, interesting, different and well maintained. Isn't the best thing to experience in the Dorset area though

Well worth a visit. We were pleasantly surprised at this secret hideaway. Lovely to be able to share such amazing work. Peaceful. Aesthetically well placed and would most definitely be visiting again!

We visited Sculpture by the Lakes as a birthday treat with special friends. It was awe inspiring, thought provoking and visually stunning even on a gloomy day. We hope to visit again at different times of the year and maybe in the evening if they hold a special event? It was one of the best days out we have had... More

At the time of writing, the attraction has over 90% of its reviews giving it 5 stars with another 8+% giving it 4 stars. It's hard to argue with those figures. It's a really original tranquil place with the sculptures set off by the lakes, river and greenery. - if you want somewhere a bit different and peaceful, seek this... More

It was a very grey and chilly day but we still managed to spend 3 hours pottering around the sculptures and gardens. We took many photos including some of the amazing set of 5 glossy cockerels! We remembered the walking boots/wellies-essential at this time of year. The gallery was well displayed and the sample copy of Simon's book gave us... More

Booking process not the most straight forward as was expecting confirmation which it turned out didn't come automatically. But apart from that, this place was so lovely - can't believe we live 10 minutes down the road without ever being aware of it. Beautiful sculptures even for those who don't know about art. Lovely romantic and relaxing atmosphere. Definitely would... More

What a discovery, beautiful sculptures in a very tranquil setting. The gardens are as wonderful as the art work. Well worth the visit.

Having not read the reviews before visiting the sculpture park we didn't know what to expect. It is such a beautiful place to visit. Even on a miserable February day we spent the best part of three hours wandering around the lakes taking everything in. Previous reviews say exactly what I would say!
