I have seen a few negative reviews on here and can understand its not for everyone, but being Bear lovers, we thought it was great. It wasn't overly expensive and the exhibits were wonderful, Bears of all shapes and sizes and in wonderful settings. You can take as many photographs as you wish, in fact we took our own much... A charming little museum set in the upstairs of an old house. You get a guide/story to read on your way around to tell you about some of the teddies and of their history. There are loads of teddies inside, some famous ones such as Paddington, Rupert & Super Ted. It is well worth a visit although a bit over... More

Our family really enjoyed the teddies but we were a little disappointed that it was so small - we did the kids quiz and walked round in no more than an hour - then went downstairs to the terracotta warriors - nice but a bit random for a dorset market town attraction!

I do wonder what the reviewers on here who have given this attraction a poor rating were expecting. It's a Teddy Bear Museum! Think like a small child and you will love it. Our five year old granddaughter did. It is small and could be cramped when busy but there are lots of teddies and plenty of information for those... More

Although we live locally, we had never been to the Museum, but decided to take our five-year-old granddaughter here before taking her back home. We thought it was good and was exactly what we expected. The bears were interesting, and unlike another reviewer, it didn't concern me that some of the historic bears were replicas of the originals - this... More

The most interesting part of this is how the teddy bear came about and a few of the larger bears. I was not sure how Donald Duck etc.. were there as they are not really teddy bears. Some parts just looked like lots of soft toys put together not like a real museum where each piece has a bit of... More

It's a teddy bear museum - so you know what to expect. The only let down for me was that there was a story to read on the way around and we weren't given one. This made it less engaging and meant that the displays weren't contextualised. 7 year old enjoyed herself and completed the quiz. I quite liked the... More

I have been here three times with my granddaughter as she absolutely loves Teddy Bears. The museum is small and does not take very long to walk round, it really depends on whether or not you love teddies. Each room features enormous bears dressed as people. There is a grandfather bear asleep, a bedroom full of bears in bed and... More

As this was in the same building as the terracotta warriors exhibition ( which is excellent ) we decided to to visit this as well. We had bought the tickets to allow entry into all 4 museums ( Tutankhamoun, Dinosaurs, Mummies , Terracatta and Teddy bears) . It was swelteringly warm going round the top floor where ti housed. Mildly... More

We visited the museum today (2 adults 1 child) and my daughter and I went to the teddy bear museum and my husband the Terracotta Warriors and I'm sorry to say we were less than impressed. "The Dorset Teddy Bear Museum is Dorchester's unmissable family museum" - more like missable! Although they have lots of bears on display it is... More
