It's a teddy bear museum - so you know what to expect. The only let down for me was that there was a story to read on the way around and we weren't given one. This made it less engaging and meant that the displays weren't contextualised. 7 year old enjoyed herself and completed the quiz. I quite liked the... More

I have been here three times with my granddaughter as she absolutely loves Teddy Bears. The museum is small and does not take very long to walk round, it really depends on whether or not you love teddies. Each room features enormous bears dressed as people. There is a grandfather bear asleep, a bedroom full of bears in bed and... More

As this was in the same building as the terracotta warriors exhibition ( which is excellent ) we decided to to visit this as well. We had bought the tickets to allow entry into all 4 museums ( Tutankhamoun, Dinosaurs, Mummies , Terracatta and Teddy bears) . It was swelteringly warm going round the top floor where ti housed. Mildly... More

We visited the museum today (2 adults 1 child) and my daughter and I went to the teddy bear museum and my husband the Terracotta Warriors and I'm sorry to say we were less than impressed. "The Dorset Teddy Bear Museum is Dorchester's unmissable family museum" - more like missable! Although they have lots of bears on display it is... More

As a teddy bear enthusiast I was incredibly excited to visit this teddy bear museum but I was so disappointed. Firstly it was seriously over priced for what it was, I'm a student and can't afford to be paying those prices even with the student discount. Secondly all the interesting bears were replicas, really wasn't impressed at all.Thirdly, I didn't... More

My son was keen to visit but when we got there we found it was a single floor of an old house and although they had taken the time to lay out the teddies and give the kids some worksheets etc. we still felt that it was expensive for what there was.

This little museum has a small range of different bears from the famous to the collectibles. We went as one Senior, rwo adults and one 3 year old and it came to an extortionate £30! There was a large gift shop which wasn't far off the size of the actual museum. It was a nice little museum and they made... More

Didn't know what to expect from a Teddy Bear Museum but we were very pleasantly surprised. A complete range of bears were on show from very small old ones to giant ones in a story setting. Little ones could have their photos taken and parents can read out the stories as you go round. It doesn't take long to go... More

Escaping some of the worst weather in a decade we dripped our way around one of the most curious museums I've ever been to. A real jumble-sale of a place with these freaky life sized bears in tableaux! It was worth wasting 20 minutes of your life and a lovely lady on the cash desk who cheered us up as... More
