The best way to get to the beach from the town or visa versa is to take a peaceful stroll through the gardens. There are places to eat, a band stand, streams, mini golf, and walks through woody areas and plenty of birds and squirrels. On summer evenings there are coloured lights. There is also an aviary and sometime art... More

I walked through the Lower Gardens on a cold day and it was nice to relax and look around. The giant helium balloon is in the middle and there are park benches scattered about the area. The squirrels can be fed by hand, I didn't try but, saw many kids giving them food & laughing when they took it from... More

The lower gardens are a peaceful retreat in the centre of Bournemouth. They are well maintained and used by residents and visitors. My only dislike was the number of dogs being exercised within the park. Some of the owners were not keeping their pets under control, resulting in two dog fights in the space of 30 minutes.

Every time we visit Bournemouth this is the place we always go, beautiful gardens and trees, loads of squirels everywhere, they are that tame they will take nits from your hands, there's a nice bandstand, hot air balloon, crazy golf, plenty of snack places, and on a warm day lay out on the grass and catch some sun, worth a... This park is lovely to walk to town from the beach. Pop in poundland and grab some monkey nuts to feed the squirrels. Kids love doing this and they take the nuts from your hands. We always visit this Park.

The lower gardens are a great place to rest and relax and watch the world go by. Beautifully kept gardens with loads of colour, birds and seating. Can recommend just sitting and watching

Lovely spot linking the beach and pier with the town centre. Some modest commercialism, putting green and air balloon, but still largely unspoilt. In summer season they get the children lighting candle displays which are magical but very crowded.
