Walking around the head is like a step back in time. The flora and fauna are amazing and there is different areas to study from beach to dunes to woods to ponds etc. it takes a good few hours to walk around this nature reserve, especially if you are in to bird spotting as you get easily distracted. It can... More

This place is beautiful. Awesome views, fabulous beach and a beautiful historic setting. Well worth a day out to visit with a picnic or use one of the cafes. Make sure to pop into the visitor centre.

This is a lovely part of the world, better than Sandbanks I think. You have the beach, the green area of the Head. Nature on your doorstep, boat rides and cafes, pubs. You can take your dog all year round, and off the lead. The children will love it. Rent a beach Hut too.

If you want that special view when in the Bournemouth area Hengistbury Head is a must see. Easy car parking (payable) and the walk to the top is well worth it especially on a clear day. During the summer season as an extra if your feeling fit, or you can use the land-train, go to the end of the Head... More

We often walk at Hengistbury Head and always enjoy ourselves. The views are spectacular whichever way you look. The beach huts are worth seeing, each one unique and all interesting. The cafe is also very good, and has been used for cups of tea and toasted tea cakes half way on a long bike ride, or for an ice cream... More

Great walks, views , wildlife and plants. A place to go to blow away some cob webs. Get the land train if you're not up to walking. An adult fair is £1.20 I think....variety of places to eat or get a coffee. Make sure you see The visitors centre which has a beautiful wildlife garden attached. The carved benches and... More
