Classic English wines are produced at Sharpham vineyard as a result of a happy marriage of soil, climate and grape variety known as terroir, and nature has bestowed her gifts freely upon us here at Sharpham. In the winery, we employ both New World and traditional techniques to best develop our unique regional characteristics. Our tally of International Awards confirms our position as one of England's foremost quality wine producers. We invite you to visit, sample, and make up your own minds about our fine English wine.

Wine tasting

Lovely walk around the estate and great wine tasting. The only thing that lets it down is the rather lacklustre service at the cafe. But the wine and cheese make up for that.

We came with our daughter for an impromptu weekday lunch and were not disappointed. The food was delicious and the staff extremely attentive. All the dishes were available in half portions for our daughter and she was very happy with a child friendly ploughmans followed by ice cream. We had Caesar salad with scallops and a delicious cheese soufflé which... More

Sharpham vineyard cafe Subject: Lunch at the Sharpham Cafe - 10th May 2015 Alert! No longer Sharpham managed. May 2015 Ancherstone Cafe new proprietors. A dire experience unforgettable only by its total inadequacy to deliver on any acceptable level. Ever tried to eat a large UN-CRACKED crab claw with a knife n fork? Bemused, inexperienced, untrained staff went from hostile... More

We walked here on a beautiful day from Totnes. We enjoyed a wonderful cheese platter, which had 4 sharpham cheeses. The experience was spoiled by the mediocre and thin wine, which was served by a very condescending and rude waitress(short stature, long dark hair,). We then walked to the nearby village of Ashprington, where the wine was much better. Next... More

I brought my boyfriend here as part of his 21st birthday present and thought it would be nice to do something different, but I did not expect to have as a memorable an experience as we did! It was a gorgeous day and a stunning location, a real hidden away gem. We took part of the trek and taste tour... More

We called in at lunchtime and were surprised to be offered a delicious local west country Cheese Platter which was ideal to accompany a couple of glasses of Sharpham wines, sitting in the sunshine overlooking the River Dart. The wines are delicious so we bought a case to take home.

My husband and I were fortunate enough to experience a wine tour and tasting last summer. It was excellent, very well led by Elke, fun and inforartive - as well as very tasty! Yesterday we went back for an early morning brunch - coffee and a cheese platter outside in the sun, served with attention to detail and with warmth... More

Having visited vineyards in France and South Africa I am sorry to say that Sharpham staff need to take a hard look at how to present a visitor attraction. We were boooked on the last tour of the day and it was very evident that the staff just wanted to go home. This the only wine tasting I can ever... More

We visited this vineyard as part of our East Anglian wine growers Vineyards of the West Country tour. The tour of the vineyard and winery was excellent and we picked up many useful tips and hints. The tasting and al fresco meal afterwards was wonderful. We were booked in and the cheese (also made on site) was very good indeed... More

In desperation where to take visiting friends, we happened upon Sharpham on the internet. I booked lunch for 1.45pm (booking essential), ready for the Vine to Wine Tour at 3pm (£19.95 per person). I wasn't sure what we would get for £80 for our afternoon but was certainly not disappointed. Lunch was magnificent and hats off to them for it... More
