This area is great for an after dinner walk as there is always something different to see and in the evening the whole area is beautifully illuminated. For those with a head for heights you must go on the big wheel. There are great views out to sea and across the town and I think you get good value for... More

Can't say much about this has it's just an inner harbour. Lock gates were fitted a few years ago, previously the inner harbour drained with the tide and so didn't look appealing. Now with the gates it has offered a nicer vista when sitting in one of the local bars.

Really nice harbour area, worth a visit during day or in the evening. Very picturesque, clean and well kept; as is the adjacent area round by the big wheel, indeed all along the promenade towards Torre Abbey. In the evening I particularly liked the coloured lights along the promenade. Good variety of bars and restaurants in the inner harbour area.

A delightful spot to sit and relax, with wine bars nearby, as the boats bob about - go all the way round to the harbour wall past the Harvester Inn and back over the new bridge, then on along the prom to the Princess theatre and stroll along the pier with lots of seating there too - all free -... The harbour would be somewhere I would go every day I didn't have anywhere else planned. Always entertaining, and lots to do.

Now that the council have installed proper facilities for boat owners and the inner harbour is full of water at all times this is a nice place to be. Close to the town centre and plenty of cafes etc. it is now worth spending some time there.

It is just very pleasant, it is not loud or flashy, you can take your time and wander around at a leisurely pace. A nice place to "chill".

On our first day in Torquay we walked down from our hotel to the promenade which is very attractive with nicely planted flower-beds here and there. Although the resort is hilly, once down at the sea-front it's naturally fairly flat. We went all round the harbour which is mostly given over to a marina with boats & yachts galore and... More
