You would think that with the millions of pounds worth of vessels in the harbour that a whole raft of decent cafe's and wine bars would line the quay. No chance, you get pubs, amusement arcades and fish and chip shops! definitely nothing like the Riviera!

Inner harbour is a place where you can have a promenade all along the sea coast. The views that you see will delight you a lot.

Tranquil harbour with lots to view. Within easy reach of Paignton and the Steam train to Kingswear which via the ferry takes you to Dartmouth.

Plenty of places to eat, outside seating and reasonable prices, lots of boats. Torquay, as with lots of South Devon, is very dog friendly

We visited Torquay expecting a town to wander about and some nice little cafés down by the harbour for lunch. Instead the town appeared to be more of a hen/stag do town (from the number of bars). A we approached the harbour it looked (from a distance) nice, but up close there were no little cafés to drop into or... More
