Memories of visiting Babbacombe go back to the 1980s and upon moving down here it was somewhere we visited again. The Downs are the same as we remember, well maintained, garden areas, seating and that wonderful view out to sea. On a sunny day Babbacombe always seems to be warmer than the town. From the Downs you have access to... More

Take the cliff railway to start the experience then walk along the coast to the quay there is a pub, some clean public toilets and a car-park. the sea was clear and air fresh . this is a walk for able bodied people special needs and wheel chair bound are not recomended. .

Loved the cliff railway very good value, immaculate considering its age, nice beach although shame about the recent landslip.

dont drive down if you can avoid it, park at the top and take the train. quaint, small town with a couple of decent beaches, a lot more serene than torquay, some nice hotels overlooking the sea.

We visited predominantly to use the cliff railway. A short journey (£2.00 return) down to the beach. The beach there is ok, nothing special and looks like it needs something doing with it. We then walked along the downs (beautiful views) and then around the village and down a very steep hill to another beach and pub. Very quaint and... More

Lovely setting but as the cliff railway was broken the beach access was too steep for our age group. The theatre looked good and the spot is very close to the model village which is well worth a visit.
