It is one of the best buildings in the country to tell the story of 800 years of Catholicism between 1196 and 1930. A clever mix of authentic artefacts with hi-tech interpretation. From talking portraits and statues to interactive displays and one of the largest fine art collections in the South West, there really is something for everyone. Follow the garden trails or pick up a family guide or Experts' Choice to discover many hidden mysteries. With a wealth of exotic plants, the gardens are a tranquil haven of beauty and pleasure and the perfect setting in which to relax, stroll or picnic. Children can explore the garden and bring the Abbey to life using our special discovery backpacks. Browse our shop stocked with a range of souvenirs, gifts and books or sit down and enjoy a selection of drinks, snacks and light meals in the tearooms. The house, Spanish Barn and Palm House are licensed for civil weddings, partnership ceremonies and christenings. Torre Abbey can also cater for functions, corporate hospitality or training events. A varied programme of events takes place at Torre Abbey throughout the year. Tours of the house are available out of hours to groups of 30 or more. Following the recent restoration project, the Abbey now boasts a new educational suite which provides opportunities for students of all ages to get involved and explore the Abbey's history. « less

I would recommend a visit to Torre Abbey, not only is it very informative but its a lovely setting with views of the bay. The Spanish barn was being used by a wedding party the day we visited, which added to the atmosphere.

We chose to visit the Abbey because our guest house was only about five minutes walk away, and we walked through the grounds every time we walked down to the town or sea front. We arrived mid afternoon, and were informed that we could return the next day at no extra cost. This suited us as we didn't have time... More

We took the land train to Torre Abbey, and it's a fun way to arrive. It also has the added benefit of taking you right to the door. We visited the abbey during the Agatha Christie Festival (15th - 21st September 2014) and they were offering a reduced price entrance of £5 (adults, not sure about children's admission prices) for... Wow! Fabulous amazing entertainment by the talented After Dark theatre company. Agatha Christie's characters were brought to life during the Agatha Christie festival. All that and the amazing vegan food that the caterers at Torre Abbey provided we had an amazing night. Staff at this venue were so friendly and helpful. One to book for next year...
