Great Walking

Beautiful and interesting walks. The national trail is always well kept and great for long walks or short strolls.

Many people go abroad in search of exotic beauty but we have so much of that right here in our own country. The SW coastal path is one of the most beautiful stretches of our coast and every town on the way has so much character and history.

We were looking for a nice place to walk where we could walk from town to town and not be too far from civilization while we were at it, and chose the Falmouth to Plymouth leg of the Coastal Path. It seemed as though it would be ok and wow, was it ever a gorgeous place to hike! We had... More

Do give a section of this walk a go even if it is only a few miles or kilometers. The views as you walk along the coast are awesome especially if you can get a good day. We did the bit from Hope Cove to Salcombe and it was wonderful. Apart from the views the conversation and chat with fellow... More

The views are breathtaking, so a camera is a must. You can find seats to take a breather or a cuppa if you brought refreshments. Some areas are out... More

We often get out one of our many OS maps of the South Hams and choose a stretch of theSouth West Coastal Footpath to walk over and last week we choose the walk from Mothecumbe beach to Beacon Hill. The path has a variety of sea views and is good under foot, we found it medium to difficult but well... More

I walked from St. Ives to Penzance in June 2015. I should have managed about 65 km but the path turned out to be much more tiring than I had assumed as I do not walk long distances a lot. Especially the bit from St. Ives to Pennor was strenuous as you were constantly going up or down. A company... More
