We arrived early for the tour, so went to the bar for a cocktail - stunning bar, the cocktail menu was long and varied! The tour we went on was run by Helen who was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. We learnt a lot about my favourite spirit! We then spent a small fortune in the shop treating ourselves to more... What was great is that we were able to book our tour online in advance, the Plymouth Gin distillery is very easy to find in the heart of the historic barbarian quarter of the city. The tour its self was short but very informative about the distilling process and the history and evolution of the company. What is lovely is... More

Having gone round very active whisky distilleries and breweries before, this could easily have been a let down, with no distilling actually being done when we were there (it only operates for one shift two days a week...) Instead the young guide was almost hysterically enthusiastic and most informative - very entertaining and amusing. As against other spirits and beers... More

Spent a lovely time here finding all about the Gin making.really worth visiting. I was amazed how long the gin distillery has been in being, and the history about it. It was really interesting, the young tour guide was very knowledgable, and answered any questions fully. It was nice that we were given a miniature of Plymouth Gin to take away.

Basic tour was very informative and our guide was happy to answer any queries we had, also happened to meet one of the distillers who also gave us a chat about his job and the difficulties in the gin industry. Was given the present of the Master Distiller's tour which allows you to have a blind taste test of 5... More

Really enjoyed the basic tour. Very knowledgeable guide who gives lots of background to the history of the place as well as info on the actual gin. Very interesting learning about the master distillers job, the association with the navy and the content of Plymouth Gin. Great little tasting and smelling and came away with some Navy strength gin! lovely looking cocktail bar, however cocktails are just average. but be warned a rather rude girl will TELL you to move to another sofa and join other couples if you are not using all the seats around your table. we we're joined by two couples in 30 mins, we all seemed a bit miffed why , especially as the sofas... I came upon this place by chance. I like gin so I went in. £7.00 for the tour with guide plus tastings was good value. Interesting about the gin and the old building - once a monastery.

Very interesting tour and great staff make this a must if you visit Plymouth. Learn about the process and history of this famous Gin and then sample a glass in the lovely bar upstairs. My partner doesn't even like Gin but found the tour very interesting and I was lucky enough to have her complimentary gin too......

My wife and I had booked a connoisseur visit for us, mum, dad, sister and brother. This was booked for 11am but due to traffic issues they didn't arrive until 11:30 am. The staff couldn't have been more pleasant or accommodating in rearranging our tour. Many thanks especially to Harriet for everything and a fantastic tour. See you all for the next... More
