We've travelled England to Spain and returned France to Ireland twice now. Since doing it first almost 10 years ago, I'm delighted to report that the standard of Brittany Ferries has remained consistently at the top in terms of the competition. I recommend booking early for an outside cabin if possible. We were lucky with the weather and enjoyed marvellous... More

We always use Brittany Ferries for our trips to France or Spain. We crossed to Cherbourg and came back from Bilbao, after a 3 week touring holiday, and had a Finistere Club cabin to Portsmouth. As ever, everything was perfect! Neither crossing was very busy so we had a quiet crossing in both directions. Without doubt Brittany has the best... More

This is the third time we have used Brittany Ferries to go to France and have not been disappointed. We like to go Portsmouth to St Malo which for us (after a long drive from Scotland with three kids [10,8,3]) gives us a chance to relax. We like the fact its a French company as it feels like the holiday... More

We boarded the ferry from Portsmouth to Caen returning the next day. Excellent help and advice given at Caen about our Dog passport thanks to Caen staff for their kind help.

Having seen the recent nightmares people have been enduring on the short crossings it is extraordinary that on the same day operation stack was in full cry on the M20 we sailed effortlessly from St Malo to Portsmouth on the beautiful Bretagne thoroughly enjoying a wonderful French meal in the restaurant. Our outbound crossing on Armorique was not as good,... More

We have been travelling to France for over thirty years and have tried nearly every route but always return to Brittany Ferries. The statement that you start your holiday as you board the ferry is certainly true and over the time we have used the company they always seemed to improve the experience. They have to be congratulated. In this... More

We used the Normandie Express back to Portsmouth from Le Havre for the second year running. This year, a quick check of the shipping forecast before we left our accommodation meant we detoured to a Pharmacy for some "medicin pour mal de mer". Well forecast rough seas and later gales (temporarily force 8) meant that the crossing was significantly less... More

Overnight Portsmouth to St. Malo. Booked 5 mnths in advance but still failed to secure a cabin. Slept on seats - never a good night's sleep but far better if you take a neck travel pillow. Can purchase an on board blanket, eye patch and earplugs for 5 euros - you then inflate the bag they come in to make... More

Portsmouth to St Malo, MV Bretagne, Overnight July 24/25......with 4 teens. All had the reclining chairs (seems you got to book big-time early for cabins as I booked in March this year and none left...) and luckily in one of the quieter areas (seats 8449 onwards). Departure at 2015 and after a few bevvies and entertainment in the bar we... More

If you have a 4x4 don't go to or from Ouistreham with Brittany Ferries, you will be loaded last, not in order and on busy summer boats find it difficult to find a seat, get a paper and certainly not be able to get into the restaurant. Outside of this we like Brittany Ferries, the cabins are clean, spacious (for... More
