We have travelled with Brittany Ferries for the past 14 years and we travel with them at least once a year. We tend to be on the Armorique and we travel from Plymouth to Roscoe on the overnight crossing. We have also been on the Pont Aven which is the flagship of the company. We always have an outside 4... We took the trip from Portsmouth, and my wife absolutely loved it. Staff were great, there was lots of room (admittedly in February), and our cabin (a 'large' outside) was comfy if quite small really. Everything shone - it's light years away from the ferries of my youth. We had the evening buffet, which was excellent quality and good value... More

Dear ‘Carpentr’, It’s great to read that your wife loved the trip on board Pont-Aven to Santander; the buffet in the restaurant is always very popular and I’m pleased that you enjoyed it. The port at Santander is very conveniently located for the city and for onward travel. Thank you for your review and I hope that we can be... More

Recently refurbished, the Armorique is still the poor relation of the Brittany Ferry fleet. The cabins are slightly more roomy than the Bretagne or the Pont Aven, but that is because the bunks are narrower! Like all the other ships in the fleet, the radios have been removed and the lights are poor, all designed to get you out of... More

I travelled over to Caen on the Normandie. It was an overnight trip a couple of days after a long flight so I took a cabin which was clean and quite comfortable and I was able to catch up on some much-needed sleep. The crossing was to schedule and I found the whole experience efficient and quite pleasant.

Living in Plymouth & travelling to Western France or Spain really means one choice. Brittany Ferries are a good choice for crossing the Channel in respectable comfort as it saves the time & cost of travelling to Dover etc to use the significantly cheaper alternatives. A return for two adults & a motorcycle came to £254 rather than £50 at... More

Took the ferry from Caen to Portsmouth over night. The ride was comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. I got a seat not a cabin so was a long night with no bed but the chairs were pretty comfy

Whilst certainly not the cheapest ferry crossing to France, Brittany Ferries fleet is modern, up to date, clean and offers a little of the French experience before you land. Roscoff and western Brittany is a wonderful area to explore both coastal and inland. Never crowded and not particularly "touristy" we love spending holidays in this part of the world.
