Really I wish to say that this was my first ferry over 3hrs long. 27hrs was the estimated time for this crossing. Due to a problem with the ramp upon embarkation and bad weather, total crossing time was 33hrs. The first 15 were hell. Everyone was seasick including the crew (there is no medication on board so bring your own)... More

We learnt this morning that our booked sailing from Plymouth to Roscoff had been cancelled due to foul weather. We received a text, Twitter message and an email to let us know. I phoned customer services and within 2 minutes had been rebooked onto an alternative sailing from Portsmouth to Caen. This is a great example of first class customer... More

I had booked, with a dog, the crossing on the 'economie' ferry Etretat to leave Bilbao 15.30 on 14th January. I had a text message the day before from Brittany Ferries to say this would be delayed and departure would be 22.00 on 15th January because of the weather. This is totally understandable. So, had to find a hotel in... More

Typical car ferry and the best and most recent of the Brittany Ferries fleet. But do not forget its a ship. I have always found that Brittany Ferries food is not up to scratch, they tell us how wonderful it is and award winning?? but its not. The restaurants are overpriced for what they offer. The self service is better... More

Dear Mike [---] at Brittany Ferries. Last review August 2014 I took your advice and travelled on your economy ferry Etretat. I could not get a cabin when I booked the return Santander-Portsmouth. so paid £10 for reclining chair. On boarding the ferry I put my name down for a cabin if there was one available.... I was fourth on... More

Dear 'algarvepet'. Thank you for leaving another review, I’m sorry you feel let down again. As with most airlines, train operators and other ferry operators our fares do fluctuate with demand and we try to be transparent about that. Generally, prices tend to rise the later you book so if you booked after another customer this was probably the reason... More

Have just returned from another great ferry crossing with you on Cap Finistaire. Would book more crossings but can't find suitable dates when there is a pet friendly cabin available. I booked the crossing we just made last August and booked one for June at the same time, otherwise you cannot get a pet friendly cabin. Have you the ability... More

Last summer, my friends and I traveled from Plymouth, England to Caen, France by crossing the English Channel using the Brittany Ferries. It is the classiest ferry ride I have ever ridden. Once we purchased our tickets, we were directed to a room with a lot of seats accommodating our big group. Once everyone got situated and received information once... More

I travelled on the Barfleur from Poole to Cherbourg with my two children. We had a comfortable crossing both ways, with plenty on board to entertain us all. The food in the restaurant was delicious! On returning to England, we discovered to our horror that my five year old daughter had left her two favourite teddy bears on board! I... More

Dear 'Cathy G', It is great to hear that you recently enjoyed your sailing on the Barfleur with your two children, enjoying the facilities onboard. It was lovely to hear that the teddies also enjoyed their little adventure and that they were reunited with your little girl soon after you returned home. Your thanks will be forwarded on to the... We have travelled 3 times in the last year on the Pont Aven Portsmouth to Santander in order to take our dog with us to Spain. We have now joined the Brittany Ferries Travel Club which makes our journeys even better value. We have worked out that there is no difference in price between taking this ferry overnight, and taking... More

Dear ‘SaraV_10’, I am pleased to read how both you and your dog enjoy your crossing with us. We travel regularly to Spain in March but have to try and book at least six months in advanced as the cabins go so quickly on the Cap Finistere later than that it is almost impossible. It is obvious there is quite a demand ,so why not make more pet friendly cabins on not only on the Cap Finestere not on... Dear ‘vealdavid’, Thank you for your review. Over the past few years the popularity of taking a pet abroad has grown significantly and we would love to add more pet friendly cabins, but there are some things that need to be taken into consideration. This includes the availability of additional space to exercise extra dogs, suitability of cabins that allow... More
