A new ship so not surprisingly the inside two-berth en-suite cabin, on the eighth floor, was in good condition. 'Snug' rather than roomy but not a problem. Impressive shower pressure. Catering OK, neither expensive or cheap. Well done, BF. more

my partner and myself took my 77yr old father across the sea from plymouth to santander in the hope of finding him a spanish widow and getting rid of him..... that didn't work but the trip was enjoyable..... We sailed from Plymouth on the Pont-A-Ven. although this was advertised as a mini cruise it was really a ferry trip on... more
As local to Plymouth the Brittany Ferries have been an excellent convenience for several decades, steadily improving in size comfort and convenience, especially for cheap out of season 'booze cruises' and the perfect start to a continental driving holiday. One of the joys of the short out and back weekend trips was the excellent dining rooms and in particular on... more
I'm in shock! the fast ferry service from Portsmouth to Caen and Cherbourg to Portsmouth was a godsend in terms of time saving and convenience but be warned; go during school holidays at your peril!. This floating creche is hell for those that prefer the quiet areas of some older traditional ferries. There is little if anything for the 'little... more
Have just returned from the four day mini cruise Portsmouth- Santander over the New year period. The ferry was very nice the food and drinks were reasonable, staff very polite and overall we had a very good time. more
Having taken the P&O crossing from Portsmouth to Bilbao previously we thought we'd try the Brittany Ferries flagship, especially as the crossing time is much shorter. The embarkation at Plymouth was excellent - fast and efficient. We had plenty of time before sailing to get our bearings and explore what the ship had to offer. A good job really as... more
We travelled on the Pont L'Abbee from Plymouth to Roscoff & back. The first trip was an overnight crossing and we had a cabin. Beds were very small and the pillows smelt revolting! The worst thing was that every time the ship lurched to to one side there was an incredibly loud creaking which made it almost impossible to sleep.... more
Brittany Ferries is pure value for money. I travelled Ireland - france by car ferry for over 16 years now. For the first few years i travelled on Irish Ferries and the service was Terrible. I got fed up with Irish Ferries and a friend told me about Brittany Ferries. I said I'd give them a go and I am... more
We Booked This Weekend as part of a Newspaper offer with crossings from £10 per person. Day Trips Plymouth-Roscoff usually cost £20 per person. 50% discount on cabins. Plymouth Ferry Terminal: for foot passengers like us parking costs are £4, going up to £4.50 Spring '08. The check in area is reasonably smart with brouchures about Day Trips to France,... more
Made outward & return trips (July 2007) on the ‘Pont l'Abbé’ on the Plymouth-Roscoff route. The outward trip was overnight. We had booked a deluxe cabin, and we were very impressed (never having made an overnight ferry crossing before). The cabin was well equipped and adequately clean; and there were some lovely toiletries provided in the en-suite shower room. The... more
