At the Barbican Theatre, we use theatre and dance to fire people up and get them excited about making, creating and exploring new moves and disciplines. We are inclusive and work with anyone who wants to join us to make outstanding theatre and dance. You can get involved as a participant or as an audience member in work that inspires, challenges, entertains and educates. We believe that creativity belongs to everyone, so we ensure that our performances and workshops are affordable and accessible. We are also specialists in taking our work out to schools, into public spaces and to communities. Feel free to drop us a review on one of our latest shows or if you've come for a visit, let us know about your experience! Don't forget to take some snaps whilst you're in the building, whether it's with a caught-out cast member or of our B-Bar downstairs. We hope you enjoy your trip to our tucked away theatre - currently rated NUMBER ONE THEATRE IN PLYMOUTH - so give us a 'like' on Facebook or a 'follow' on Twitter to find out more about future events!

Really loved the energy and the relevance today, of very dated play, brought so brilliantly up to date.

This is such a small place tucked away on Plymouth's Barbican, For many years it lay in the doldrums but due to inspired leadership it has become as much a centre where people meet as a theatre. The theatre itself is tiny and so inevitably it cannot stage big productions but if you are lucky enough to see one or... More

Hi Valerie! Thank you for your fab review! We are glad to see you enjoy our stance as a cultural centre, and not only a theatre, as we hope to add a further variety of events in our future. Hopefully, what we lack in theatre size, we more than make up for in our goals to make Plymouth (& the... More

Hi notabene15! We're delighted that you and your wife have enjoyed your visits to our theatre, and would recommend it. Being tucked away in the Barbican and having the views that we have is most definitely - as you say - a great bonus! If you enjoyed your visit to the B-Bar, you can pass them a review on Trip... I would recommend this lovely little Theatre, were you can see some unique and inspiring shows. Have been there several times and it has a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. There is often live music in the BBar too within the building , which includes a Thai resturant with a varied and reasonably priced menu. Brilliant!

We managed finally to get tickets for one of the local general election hustings just over a week ago. Very well organised and a good space for the contestants and the audience to feel engaged and part of it. A very informative exchange, although it was particularly odd that the incumbent Tory, Oliver Colvile was the only non attendee, having... More

Hi HillyCirencester! We are glad you managed to get a ticket to our 'Challenge Your Politicians' parliamentary hustings, and that you enjoyed the experience & theatre. Hopefully, now with the general election over, this helped to inform you on your decision for voting. We would love to host more events such as these, in addition to our fantastic dance, theatre,... From the wonderful comedy of Law Navette Bett to the musicals of Plymkids this small cosy theatre provides excellent well staggered seating - no heads in the way here. Not seen a bad production yet and the prices are very reasonable

We saw Le Navet Bete at the wonderful Barbican Theatre. Love the closeness of the drama to the stage here. Dont miss an oppotunity to see Le Navet Bete. Brilliant foursome drama group from Devon. Always hilarious and entertaining x

Le Navet Bete always put on a great show and this is their most ambitious yet. It's going on tour so look out for it but the barbarian theatre is their home turf and this great little venue is always the place to see them for me

We visited the Barbican Theatre to watch Le Navet Bête perform Dick Tracy. We were well looked after by all of the staff and had a very enjoyable entertaining evening thanks to a brilliant performance!

Visiting the lovely Barbican Theatre to see a show by Le Navet Bete is now getting a regular event for our family. This is only the 2nd week they have actually performed this new show. Despite that it ran really smoothly and was very enjoyable. High energy, loads of fun a great family evening out.
