I used to take my children here a lot when they were small, brilliant acting on a small stage, staff friendly. food is amazing, my daughter had her birthday meal there and she was so well looked after, even being allowed to go up on stage to perform with her friends. I have been out just for drinks too and... More

I went with my family to see this production of Midsummer Night's Dream and what a fantastic experience it was. Set in the garden of Residence One at Plymouth's Royal William Yard it was the best performance of the play that I have ever seen, even topping visits to Stratford! In a reverse of 'normal' arrangements the audience sat on... More

I was lucky enough to see what turned out to be the first open air performance of the play at the Royal William Yard. The setting was perfect, and the cast used all of it to advantage. I liked the fact that all the characters were comic, even Theseus. This production reminded me what fun the play is.

Hi Louise, Apologies from us all at Barbican Theatre that the weather prevented you from watching A Midsummer Night's Dream at Residence One. We are incredibly glad that you enjoyed the indoor version of the show anyway, and that our incredible cast made you feel a part of the show! Thank you! More

We had a fabulous visit to the Barbican Theatre to see A Midsummer Night's Dream which had to be relocated at the last minute from it's outdoor venue because of the rain. The staff at the Barbican went to great lengths to ensure we had as much notice as possible that the location had been changed and in spite of... More

What a perfect setting to stage a midsummer night's dream residence one at the Royal William Yard. The cast were superb and the use of modern gadgets gave a great twist to Shakespeare's tale of misdirected lovers. Give us more like this please - I loved it.

The Barbican Theatre is a hidden gem. Although tiny, its intimate atmosphere is enchanting. My wife and I visited for the theatre's production of "A Midsummer Night's Dream" and were privileged to see a rendition of this lovely play which surprised us with its energy and invention. We were held spellbound as the story unfolded through a cast which was... More

Hi Rob, We are humbled that you and your wife enjoyed our Shakespeare show and gave it a standing ovation.
