Owner description: Established in 1974, we have become the southwest's largest and leading academic bookshop. An independent family run bookshop with thinking at its heart. We love all books so don't think just text books! Our staff are always on hand to help you find what you are looking for. If the book you require is not in stock, we can usually obtain a copy by the following day.

Although it is obviously geared to the university trade I was pleasantly surprised to find the well selected mixture of non academic books. I sail regularly on longer trips and came in to buy some reading for our next trip. Very helpful staff.

Always pleased to give deserved praise to first rate independent traders, especially booksellers. This is a good little shop on two floors. There is a fine row of good stained glass across the top front but this year for the winter festivities the staff have added some really good additions painted on. Very effective.

Come here often. Like the relaxed friendly feel and the skilfully selected mixture of books on the shelves both on the ground and basement floors. Very helpful staff. Pity the bus lane replaced the short term parking outside.

I can't ever warm to the major national chain which I tend to use only to check out occasional more expensive tomes before ordering them much cheaper online. I use the Uni Bookeseller for more human reasons. The staff chat and help. There are usually a few folk in the shop mourning around and students rushing in and out for... More

Convenient on North Hill and with slick friendly helpful staff. On two floors with a selection that goes well beyond the academic stock for the university across the road.

Glad to see this listing for my favourite bookshop. Nothing is too much trouble and I like the thoughtful combinations on the travel and art etc shelves.

The only remaining independent bookshop in Plymouth with the possible exception of the college shop at Marjon. Just opposite the university and up from the Library/Museum. Part of a family firm with at least one other shop in Falmouth. Sells a wide selection of academic texts with supporting literature, art, photography, architecture, politics, travel etc. Friendly efficient staff. If your... More
