Definitely worth a visit - fun night out! (Enjoyed 20th Century Boy!) Very comfy seats with plenty of leg-room and good viewing configuration. A delight from the many old Victorian theatres (especially in London!) yet on the circuit hosting mainstream contemporary productions. Very reasonable ticket prices with various concessions. All easily bookable on excellent user-friendly website. Parking on flat outside... More

After a major refurbishment the Theatre Royal is better than ever. The cafe restaurant is an excellent place to get a pre show meal at reasonable prices, especially their 'show specials'

We saw Singing in the Rain and noted how much the place had improved since we were last here with additional eating facilities downstairs. The inside of the theatre is magnificent and I have never seen a bad performance here. Only two issues. The ice cream in the theatre is a bit steep at 2.50 for a tub. The other... More

Saw a great production of Singin' In the Rain. Lots of high-kicking dance numbers, Vicky Binns from Coronation Street as the screeching Lina Lamont with a thick Bronx accent and a colourful umbrella-twirling finale.....FABULOUS!!!

As a family we have been to several theatres including a few in London. For seating and viewing in my opinion it hasn't been beaten yet.

Newly refurbished the theatre offers a variety of programmes through the year. Brining big West End musicals or drama it is the place to go in Plymouth for wonderful entertainment. Offering two theatres, the Drum and the Lyric there is something for everyone. Sit back and enjoy.

This was my first visit to this theatre. It was a family outing with 2 small grandchildren in tow. It was a wonderful experience enjoyed by all (3 adults + 2 children). The seating was comfortable, the staff were friendly and helpful. It was great to see the theatre packed, despite the slightly expensive ticket price, most especially for children,... More
