Great cliff railway to see the lovely views of lynton and lynmouth. Not much at the top of the cliff lynton but worth the trip up there. The cliff railway accept dogs which they cost another £1.50, you can walk down if you want to.

A marvel in Victorian engineering that is still going strong. A wonderful experience every time and the staff are well versed on the subject and take great pride in running this legacy. The Cliff Top café is worth a visit too. Good food and nice staff.

This very steep railway is really a cliff lift. It is solely powere by water and takes people up and down all day to from Lynton at the top to Lynmouth at the bottom. It is interesting to watch the cabs moving and pass each other in a special passing place in the middle of the descent. Apparently they used... More

It was great to travel on the cliff railway as we didn't want to climb on steep paths and the view on top was lovely.

The Lynton & Lynmouth cliff railway is wonderful. It takes you down the cliff from Lynton to Lynmouth and is powered solely by water. A short journey from top to bottom where you will find the esplanade with various shops and places to eat. Also at the bottom is the river where you can have a bite to eat/welcome drink... More

A unique cliff railway powered by water. It only takes a short time to go up the cliff but the experience and view are worth it. Unfortunately we did not find any of the staff very friendly......ticket seller or the two different drivers, one on the way up and one on the way down. In fact me and my husband... More

An experience that has its ups and its downs. All the services are non-stop. Staff friendly and willing to answer withy great patience what are probably the same set of questions.

Mainly useful if you're tired to walk up the cliff path, but it's a quaint window into the past all the same. Worth a go on it if you're visiting as you get great views at the top.
