These tours are a great way to get an overview of Exeter. There are several tours you can go on, I went on the 'introduction to Exeter' tour. The lady who lead the tour was well informed and showed us various sights, the Roman walls, the cathedral and more and told us about the history of them. There was plenty... More

We wanted to learn more about Exeter and found the Red Coat person who took us around was great. Apart from have an enormous amount of knowledge he had he also really enjoyed the opportunity to talk about his city. We had a 4 day stop in Exeter and our Red Coat tour, Exeter Old and New, on Friday 30... More

Had a personal tour with guide Dave as there was only myself and my wife on it. Its free for a start, you would pay good money in many other places for a history tour of this length. Its an ideal way to see the City and learn all about it. Would highly recommend it, and thanks Dave, it was... More

An hour and a bit tour of Exeter with tales of the darker history of Exeter. Would highly recommend this free tour that was highly entertaining and interesting. The guide was very good telling tales of Exeter in an easy going manner.

Can only endorse previous comments on the excellence of our tour which took us from the Cathedral to the Quay. Our guide Lindsay was very informative and knowledgeable. Our first time in Exeter and a very good introduction to the City

We had an excellent tour yesterday with a very enthusiastic and informative guide. We saw and learnt many things we would not have discovered for ourselves. Highly recommend this tour.

I went on the Medieval and City Walls tours. Both were excellent, very interesting, with both historic overviews and lots of specific detail. The guides were enthusiastic and knowledgeable. I discovered little places I hadn't noticed before, and learned the origins of some of sayings like 'piss poor' and 'living on a shoe string' (go on a tour and find... More

Had an enjoyable tour on Friday morning taking in the old and new sites of Exeter. We met by the German Christmas market in the Cathedral Yard and after a 15 minute introductory history of the city our guide took us around the town pointing out various points of interest over the course of the 90 minutes. Unfortunately the weather... More

I had enjoyed other free tours taken in previous years, this time I went on the Medieval Tour. Although it was a breezy day there were about 20 of us on the tour. The guide obviously enjoyed talking about Exeter and kept the large group entertained throughout. We ran slightly over 90 minutes and a fair bit of walking was... More
