A brilliant way to see whatever aspect of Exeter you're interested in - medieval, Georgian, city wall, cathedral to quay from knowledgeable friendly guides who are genuinely interested in Exeter. And they're free which is even better! Only worry was if there would be places available as you can't book and its first come first served with group size limited... More

There is no better way to find out about a city than to go on a guided tour and for such a tour to be free is an added bonus. The volunteers are knowledgeable and entertaining and give you a view of the city and it's hidden corners that you would never get just wandering around. In fact we so... More

We joined the Medieval Exeter tour with Americans and French visitors as well as othe British visitors. Gill, our guide, was really informative and led us at just the right pace, pointing out the history of Exeterthat we could never have found on our own. Where would our country be without volunteers like Gill? Please keep on doing just what... More

Well worth joining one of these city tours if your time in the city allows. Apart fro being free which is brilliant when holidays are so expensive. The knowledge of the volunteer tour guides is outstanding, Mike was our guide on Wednesday for the Medieval tour of Exeter he was informative and interesting and we thoroughly enjoyed his explanations and... We joined a Saturday morning Medieval Exeter tour with Mike. He was outstanding managing to avoid the 2 usual tour traps of either imparting way too much information or trying to turn it into a one man comedy show. He was concise witty and well informed. There are many other guides but if they are half as good as Mike... More

We've been to Exeter a number of times over the last year and done several of these free Redcoat tours whilst we were there. They generally start at 11:00 or 14:00 at the marked meeting point next to the Cathedral and last for 1.5 hours. Although there is some overlap of information between some of the tours the guides (who... More

I've made this tour twice in November, the first time with Ann, and the other with Nick. Both were brilliant and full of knowledge with a lot of experiences and hints about Exeter to share. Of course I will join the tour again in another opportunity. Thank you dears, you are all lovely :)

Very informative and interesting. Would definitely recommend it as a way of learning about Exeter and familiarising yourself with the city. This tour is free and I have paid for tours that were not nearly as good. Thank you Sharyn.

Our guide Ann Kennedy was brilliant, very knowledgeable and a great easy going style. Her knowledge of Exeter is very good like all the Guides I have been with. These walks are a great way to learn about Exeter, history in general and go to places you wouldn't know about. Oh and there are free !!

We took the basic, introductory tour and had a very interesting time. We saw bits of Exeter and learnt history that we would otherwise not have, Our guide was very informative and knowledgable. You can just turn up (check the website or tourist information for details) and its free. I can't recommend these tours highly enough.
