A pleasant trip up the beautiful River Dart to Agatha Christie's summer home 'Greenways' on a sunny, warm afternoon. A steep walk up to the house [not recommended for the less-agile] from the quay. A very interesting house although perhaps a little less grand than one first expects. A walk through the gardens down to the water's edge is very... More

This punctual little ferry carries its passengers across from Dart Harbour to its neighbouring Kingwear jetty. This is where the railway was terminated when the Admiralty blocked the railway bridge proposed up stream to take the trains to Dartmouth proper. So today Dartmouth has a railway station, but no railway!

A great little cruise: friendly staff, great views and value for money. We also travelled up the Dart on the one hour excursion: a good choice.

Lovely way to get to Greenway House from Dartmouth. Commentary from Captain; Hilarious. There is plenty to see as you go up and down this scenic river.

as you chug across the river. Lovely little village/town too but the ferry gives the grandest views.

The Greenway ferry is a bargain. Great trip in lovely surroundings and a commentary from the captain to bring some of the views to life. Combine with a steam train ride from Dartmouth to Greenway House for a good day.

From Torquay to Dartmouth including a river Dart trip, what a great day out. A "must do" excursion. Dartmouth really lovely.

We arrived by boat which is a good way to appreciate what a wonderful setting for a house. From the harbour it is a bit of a walk up hill (there is transport for the less able) to the house. The house is a fascinating insight into Agatha's world and certainly where some of her stories came from

A boat trip from Dartmouth to Greenway and return is great. But the four hour time window was just not enough for us. I am not sure how this problem can be solved in the busy tourist season with outward boats being full. An interesting commentary on the boat adds to the experience.

We took the Gold ticket day out which included sailing from Torquay to Dartmouth and then on to Slapton Sands to hear about the US troop rehearsals for D Day. The Fairmile is a historic WW2 vessel and as such is not the most luxurious boat you will ever spend time on but the experience was great and the crew... More
