Nice small beach

Lovely and picturesque, tucked away behind the 'island' car park, no dogs from easter, small enough to the kids to run about and not get lost!

We Spent many years holidays in St Ives and this year returned after 31 years. We always booked a beach chalet on Porthgwidden beach and took all our buckets, spades, wind-breaks etc down on our 1st day of the holiday. It is such a lovely beach and being only small you can see your children quite easily. The beach cafe... More

This beach is nestled in between the two sides of St Ives and provides a really sheltered haven for families and beach lovers. Golden sand, occasional surfing and great views. Quite a small beach so I imagine it could get very busy in the summer months.

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. Golden sand and clear blue waters, I did not know this could exist in England. When we visited it was quite but I can imagine at the height of summer, this beach will be busy. Car park nearby, east walk to high street for food etc. Perfect.

Fab little enclosed small beach, easy to keep and eye on kids especially if you have toddlers & young children. Beach is sheltered so waves are gentle and safe with usual precautions in regard to children and water. Lovely sand with beach huts at rear and great little cafe.

This modest looking cafe on the beach was a real joy. Very informal, with friendly service the food was really excellent, with stunningly good fish dishes. Added to a great view and informal ambiance, weel worth the visit. Will return if I can for the bouillabaisse alone!

.....and the whole family to be honest. Very safe to swim & paddle in as well. Excellent facilities, car parking (£4 per day) as well as places to obtain food & free toilet facilities. Couldn't fault the place.

A lovely beach for familes, beware of seagulls pinching your food. The kids loved it and were keen to paddle in April.
