Small but perfect with a great café in the boathouse on the beach that opens as a restaurant at night. Fantastic local fresh food, ait outside under the stars with the sea lapping in the background - perfect

The restaurant catered exceptionally well for a party of ten including three very young children. Everyone in the party raved about the food which was excellent. Add to this the excellent service from attentive staff and you have a perfect evening for a celebration.

Liked the fact that it was compact and enclosed so you couldn't lose your children! Also had all the facilities you need including toilets, food, hire of equipment. Downside is that the sun is always behind you so not easy to get an even tan!

Windy part of St. Ives for groovy surfers. But your windbreakers up if your going to spend all day on this beach.

This was a sheltered beach with lovely sand. It slopes into the sea more sharply than the other beaches, so you don't have to walk miles when the tide's out to go for a swim

Always our 1st choice st ives beach. Crystal clear sea, regular seals in bay, sand just perfect for kids sandcastles and general play and not overcrowded. We just love it here. If you visit st ives and don't visit porthgwidden then you are missing out

Waited nearly 1.5 hours for main course, always better service during winter. I think they booked everyone in at the same time and the kitchen couldn't cope!

This beach is perfect for little ones - I took my boys there when they were small and this year I was there with my grandchildren. There are excellent facilities on the beach for eating, drinking and amusing the children. Watch out for the seagulls !!

Been here at least once a year for 44 years. The only beach you need. Looking a little shabbier than in the 1970's but still great place to head. When it gets too hot, go on the hill and fly a kite. Only downside is the appalling smell toilets at the top of the slope.
