This beach is just perfect for getting away from it all. It's so big you can be all alone, the feeling of openness is fantastic. It's a lovely walk if you park at St.Uny church and walk through the golf course and down the steps under the quaint railway line to the sea.

Fabulous beach recommended, and used by the "locals" during summer when they want to get away from the "grockels" (holidaymakers). Bit of a walk over the golf course and free limited parking BUT NOT ON GOLF COURSE car park. Take your own drinks/food picnic!

As I was staying at Carbis Bay, I thought I'd take my hound for a wander on Porthkidney. What a lovely place! Beautiful sandy beaches, lovely clear (ish) seas, my dog really enjoyed playing with the odd other dogs, swimming in the sea, eating seaweed! Parking: There is free parking at the top. Be careful and watch for the tide... More

This is the most wonderful beach. Hawks Point to the river at low tide is nearly a mile. This is my favourite walk - over the cliffs from Carbis Bay. down the dodgy steps at Hawks Point, along the beach and back to Carbis Bay. - 3mies - or at a very low tiIde you can do it all on... More

Big, long, sandy beach ideal for walking the dog on. It can be quite a walk to actually get to the sea and it looked a good spot for kitesurfing, there were some very good locals that made me want to give it a go!

In Lelant, not St.Ives town. A bit of a walk but......it's quiet, not screaming noisy kids. Some (male) nudity in the dunes but you don't have to go up there. No amenities at all so take your food and all essentials with you. Fantastic vies of the bay, Lighthouse and St. Ives itself. Golf course and members a bit hoity-toity... More

Me, my boyfriend and our border collie walked the coastal path from St Ives to find this beach on a sunny September day. Very up-and-down path as might be expected, for about 1.5 hours. A little hairy at times so I suggest only taking this on if you're in good health. But I can say Porthkidney was certainly worth the... More

This beach is just beautiful, lovely white sands, when i went very empty and lovely to walk dog on, great view of Hayle and surrounding area, check tides though as one morning when i went the beach was hard to access due to high tide. no real parking except finding a space by church but i got lucky most times,...
