Porth Kidney (or Lelant beach) is a super dog friendly/horse friendly beach. There are no facilities there which is why I love it as it is never busy even in the height of summer, unlike other beaches in St Ives bay. It's not much good for swimming as the beach is very flat and you have to go out a... More

I recently stayed in Lelant on a family holiday with my dog, so was thrilled to see this quiet, clean dog friendly beach was so close to where I was staying. After parking by St Uny Church and walking for 20 minutes we arrived at the beach, about an hour before high tide. At first glance it looked fantastic but... More

what a lovely beach if you want nothing more than to walk by the sea with your dog. It is very clean and totally unspoiled. the only downside is there are no toilets.

Such a beautiful sandy beach lapped by turquoise waters, could rival many beaches in the Med. When the tide is out you can walk across to Carbis Bay (another stunning beach), and the beauty is that as this beach is only accessible by footpaths, it is quieter than those in St Ives. Dog friendly too and plenty of sand to... More

No words can describe the utter beauty of this beach. It has to be of the best in the UK and would give many abroad a run for its money. If you see it from the St Ives branch line you would honestly think you were abroad, make sure you take a walk down there to experience it. A must... More

Porthkidney Sands is one beautiful beach. A dog walkers paradise, golden sands that stretch for miles and rarely crowded, where you can walk the dog all year round. When the tide is out you can walk all the way to St Ives. As beautiful in the Winter as it is in the Summer. Just gorgeous.

This wide expanse of sand is just breathtakingly beautiful. We were lucky to have clear blue skies, and the sea looked more like you would imagine out in The Tropics! This is a beach where dogs are allowed to run free and enjoy their holiday....and there were plenty of them, including my own. There are no facilities...and none are necessary.... More

We were looking for a lovely beach to visit with the dog. This was recommended to us and we weren't disappointed. We walked from St Ives along to Carbis Bay and then on to Porthkidney. The walk took about an hour and was well worth it when we arrived. Plenty of it and the dog loved it!
