Wonderful beach, when tide out lovely soft sand and great views. So nice to be able to take the dogs and as there are no facilities, not very busy. Best beach we found in cornwall to take the hounds!

For this part of Cornwall a very rare year round Dog friendly beach and when the tide goes out you have around 1 mile of golden sand to walk on. No amenities so take everything you will need and ensure you know your tide table!!!

If you come from St Ives, or Carbis Bay, you can walk there taking the coast path, very enjoyable walk, and you can walk all along the dunes, and have a rest after on the lovely sand, and then take train back in Lelant Saltings

So, if your dog loves the beach then we all know that they hate Easter because the Sunday before Easter is when the beach bans kick in. However, not on Porthkidney. This is a vast expanse of sand just to the north/ east of Carbis Bay and at low tide the expanse continues all the way around to Hayle and... More

A February walk from Carbis Bay to Lelant along the coast path, when we got to Porthkidney there were only 2 other people and a dog in sight. A lovely bracing walk.

Clean, ideal for walking and some surfing. No really close parking so was not busy. If you don't mind the walk then great area for kids to run and play on the sand and in sand dunes behind.

We took our pooches here a lot, very few people around, not easy to access, please see above, but well worth the trek to let your pooches have a good run while you enjoy the beauty of the wonderful surroundings. No shops/amenities so take anything you want/need with you

This is such a massive expanse of sand, and so breathtakingly beautiful. The estuary is clean and sparkling, so pretty. We saw lots of dog walkers here too and everyone cleaned up after their dogs, so no worries there. No shops or eateries nearby so be sure to take a picnic. Breathtakingly beautiful place

We didn't go down onto the beach but it looked beautiful from the Southwest Coastal Footpath from Lellant to St Ives.
