We drunk and had evening meals here several evenings, must admit very nice. But if you are a tourist you are not welcome on Monday evenings. We were asked to leave our seats as locals were booked in after 7 pm. So we went next door to the Union inn much better landlords and a nice clean pub.

Went for a pre dinner drink on three nights during our time in St Ives. Great British pub, warm welcome , good choice of drinks , no music, stone flagged floor & if you want food a good choice of menu. We will definately eat here on our next trip to St Ives in the Autumn.

We decided to do something different on the Monday night as we were staying in St Ives and it's a dog friendly pub which is always a plus. We joined in with the quiz but we did get there about 7.00pm even though the quiz doesnt start till 8.30pm but having gone in on a Monday night before and particularly... More

This is quite a basic pub but it does what a pub should do: good beer at a fair price, efficient and friendly staff, a wide selection of ales and ciders.

Having read this was a place to go, we popped in on our first day. It is quite tired; lacking little efforts to enhance the place. My rioja was terrible, but the beer selection is better. Bar staff were not quick to engage with conversation.

A proper pub with real ale. Great welcome and service. Try the Betty Stoggs. Books to swop and read along with plenty of newspapers, making for a lazy afternoon! Didn't try the food but it looked and smelled good and was very reasonably priced. fun quiz 8pm every Monday.

We stayed in St Ives, and went here last night for evening meal. Very friendly, great pub food and well worth a visit. We both had steak and chips. And joy of joy. . . real chips! Steak cooked to perfection, good price too. (we both like it rare). The staff and regulars were friendly and welcoming.

Lovely dog friendly pub. We had a child's nuggets and chips and 2 Sunday carveries, we had so much meat it was unbelievable and a lovely choice of pots and veg. Real home cooked grub, a lovely atmosphere and friendly staff.

We regularly as a family pop in to the Castle for typically pre dinner drinks and we love the proper pub feel as apposed to a Yates/Weatherspoon type place !!

We visited The Castle Inn for a Sunday roast in early October. The place was relatively busy but we had no problem finding a place to sit and were encouraged to move some tables together so our party of 6 could eat together. Four of us had the roast - 2 lamb and 2 pork and the meals were very... More
