This is a very dog friendly and welcoming pub. Didn't try the food but this is a friendly establishment with plenty of ales, ciders and lagers. Staff made customers feel welcome. Would recommend.

Great pub. A proper real ale boozer just like you want it. Really friendly too with a great range of styles of ales. Nice to see a Mild in December.

We popped in for lunch, being vegetarian the menu had a nice choice for us...I had quorn sausages, mash, peas and gravy...my hubby had spaghetti bolognese made with quorn mince. The food is cooked to order, hence a bit of a wait, but well worth it,couldn't fault the service or the meals and lager was refreshingly nice.Altogether a great place to eat at a reasonable price...will... We were looking for somewhere to have a drink and were enticed in by the sound of live music. The pub is a traditional boozer; wood clad with a nautical theme. It seems popular with locals and visitors alike. Friendly bar staff, a good selection of wines and Colin the collie came too. The band were pretty good as well!

We visited The Castle yesterday, it was Rememberence Sunday and quite wet & busy outside, so we called in for a beer & coffee. We had our Westie dog with us, who was made to feel very welcome, the chef gave him a few scraps of warm turkey at the end of Sunday Carvery session. We've visited this pub on... More

Popped in for a quick drink after a day exploring St Ives. Great atmosphere, friendly staff & excellent range of beers/lagers on offer. Interesting display of beer mats through out the pub!

Dropped in for an afternoon pint having spent a few hours exploring St Ives. Inside its a 'proper' pub, clearly old. Lots of ales on draught, the girl behind the bar was happy to give me a sample of a brew I'd not come across before, before buying...just how it should be

Popped in for a pint. Great traditional pub, atmosphere and fine beer. Equally good for a beer with friends or a solitary sit down with a crossword.
