This is a kid friendly walk lasting around 1 hour 15 mins and does involve a reasonable amount of walking although it's spread out between stops. The walk is a mix of tales, learning pirate talk and pirate jokes. Personally I would have preferred more tales but I guess Shanty is trying to mix it up for the kids and... More

We found this very interesting. Shanty is an amazing storyteller who kept us on our toes for the whole tour.. Be advised the walk is very very hilly and comfortable shoes is a must also it can get very windy so maybe a coat.. If in the area make sure you find yourself outside Blass Burger restaurant for 9:30

Thoroughly entertaining. Great teller of tall tales in some very atmospheric settings. Lots of walking up some steepish hills so need to be active if not fit. Shanty knows lots about the area so try chat with him between locations for even more interesting insights into st ives.

I had arrived in St Ives at Sunday lunchtime for a short break and wanted something I could do (as a lone female) in the evening. Wandering round the town during the afternoon, I spotted the signs for Shanty Baba’s walks - the Pirate Walk at 7pm and the Ghost Walk at 9.30. Both sounded fun, there was no need... More

My wife and 15 year old daughter decided to to go on the later walk Shanty offers starting at 9.30pm. Darkness was falling when Shanty arrived with his staff and lantern to a group of approx 25 people mostly adults and a few younger children. What a wonderful experience it was, walk lasted about 90 mins all together with about... More

A great night-time activity in lieu of the pub! A good mix of St. Ives history and gruesome myths and stories. Because the 'ghost' stories do focus on the gruesome as opposed to the eery I would say it's quite suitable for children over 10 as it's not frightening so much as entertaining and interesting. However, other reviewers have commented... More

We thoroughly enjoyed Shanty Baba's Ghost Walk - he was a fantastic story-teller who was incredibly well-informed about the history of St Ives and the surrounding area. His ghost stories were creepy as well as being jam-packed full of interesting, little-known facts and history about St. Ives. I was very impressed by the way he obviously adapts his destinations and... More

We went for the Ghost walk and it was very good! We started by the harbour then went up to Barnoon Cemetary and back via Portmeor beach back to the other end of harbour! The chap who does the walk is very knowledgeable and I learned loads about the town...plus he tells a great story! It was a reasonable price... More

A brilliant walk around St Ives - learning about the gruesome history and urban myths which haunt the town. A very engaging and funny host who ensured nobody was left yawning despite the late finish. Would recommend anyone aged 12 upwards try this!

I did enjoy this ghost walk to some extent just felt a bit diss appointed the stories were over the top and more phantoms. The hills are ridicoudly steep on the ghost walk with no warning either. If I'm being honest I prefers the other ghost walk near the sloop inn pub the stories were better and the guy who... More
