Dolly P, is a Lochin 33, a 10 metre boat powered by a 350hp Volvo Penta engine. We are licensed by the MCA to carry 12 passengers up to 60 miles. Our most popular Trip is the one hour trip to Seal Island, which we run hourly (weather permitting) on a daily basis. Seal Island is home to a colony of Grey Atlantic Seals and is 6km west of St Ives. The boat, Dolly P, clings to the coastline before reaching Seal Island where the boat stays for 15-20 minutes to observe the seals. The other boat trips we offer are trips to Godrevy Lighthouse, trips to Hell's Mouth and Private Charters, including Ashes Scattering Services. We also offer Fishing trips from St Ives, both Mackerel Fishing Trips and Wreck Fishing Trips. « less

The tour started 11 am (had to be there 15 min earlier, time was not published on website nor leaflet) There were several companies competing but we had booked with Derek on St. Ives Boats. It was a windy day and we had some rough sea. Sitting at the end gave us a splendid view, but the ones sitting towards... More

Thank you for your excellent review of your Boat Trip aboard Dolly P. We do not advertise trip times on our website or leaflets, because they vary throughout the season depending on weather, tide times and demand. I encourage customers to phone to get the latest departure times. As seals are wild animals, we cannot control their movements. Sometimes there... More

We took a trip to see the seals aboard Dolly P because the weather was not quite fine enough for the beach. We are glad that we did as we managed to see beautiful St Ives from the sea on a comfortable, safe boat. The boat travels past St Ives landmarks and once reaching Seal Island waits long enough for... This was a brilliant way to spend a morning! The sea was a little choppy but the guy in charge was so friendly and reassuring, we soon got used to the swell! We stopped for lots of photo opportunities of the seals at Seal Island and then headed back to St Ives. Much more thrilling than the Hepworth Museum! More

I had a wonderful time wreck fishing. Caught lots of good sized Cod Pollock Whiting and mackeral. The skipper was very quick and helpful in sorting out snags and in keeping everyone fishing as much as possible. It got quite hard work reeling in fish after fish. I took home to eat a 8lb cod a 6lb pollock and two large... More

Had a fantastic trip with St Ives Boats aboard Dolly P. Went for the Seal Island trip but they also offer other trips and fishing. Driver was professional, friendly and very knowledgeable. Plenty of sights to see along the way and lots of playful seals at the island itself. Seeing St Ives from the sea is a different experience. Trip... More
