Dolly P, is a Lochin 33, a 10 metre boat powered by a 350hp Volvo Penta engine, for a fast, stable and comfortable ride. We are licensed by the MCA to carry 12 passengers up to 60 miles. Our most popular Trip is the one hour trip to Seal Island, which we run hourly (weather permitting) on a daily basis. Seal Island is home to a colony of Grey Atlantic Seals and is 6km west of St Ives. The boat, Dolly P, clings to the coastline before reaching Seal Island where the boat stays for 15-20 minutes to observe the seals. The other boat trips we offer are trips to Godrevy Lighthouse, trips to Hell's Mouth and Private Charters, including Ashes Scattering Services. We also offer Fishing trips from St Ives, both 1 1/2 hour Mackerel Fishing Trips and 4 hour Wreck and reef Fishing Trips. Bookings can be made by Mel, who you will find Outside The Lifeboat Station. Or phone to book « less

I went as much for the boat trip as for the seals and had a great time. The Dolly P is a small vessel which carries 12 passengers, I think. The first great thing is the unexpected speed of boat - once it leaves the harbour it really puts on a turn of speed as it heads towards Zennor Head.... More

The hour-long trip to and from Seal Island was made all the better by the near-perfect weather. Only two seals came out to play, but that was no fault of the friendly and obviously very experienced Skipper. You take your chances with wildlife and he took the boat in as close as was safe to the rocky outcrop. Although the... More

This was a great trip on the 'Dolly P'. The guys who run the boats are very good. Very friendly and helpful. We were also fortunate enough to see dolphins right up close to the boat, which made the trip extra special. Great service, great experience

turned out to be a tame seal called Sammy, very cute and used to audience. The trip was very informative and when we got to "Seal Island" we could see two seals we could not get to close as there were wild seals and it would have been wrong to invade there space too much, rightly so. Seal Island is... More

Well worth a trip to Seal Island on one of the boats; we enjoyed a ride on the 'Dolly P', my wife, baby and I. The driver was very friendly throughout and made everyone feel at ease. I'd recommend this to other's generally. So, why not a higher rating? Well, having been on a different boat to Seal Island in... More

Lovely hour or so on the Polly P. Not being fit I had been apprehensive beforehand and unsure if I could go - it's a short dinghy ride from the pier to the boat and a transfer from one to the other. It was fine. Men on both used to guiding people and weren't phased by my kneeling part way... More

My four year old daughter and I took a trip on the Dolly P to go to Seal Island. The boat is down a set of steps at the end of the pier but there was someone to help my daughter on and then when we left, there was just one crew member. Before we went out, he explained where... More

The Dolly P is the best trip - exciting, fast, informative and so lovely to see the lighthouse and the seals!! Our kids loved it and we are definately going to do another trip next year - the captain backed into the coves and we saw so much more than other boats - booked it when we arrived in St... More

We went Seal watching on the DollyP as a family of four, the skipper & crew were friendly & doing their job with ease. Good Seal viewing and plenty of time to take photos, we did not feel rushed to turn the boat back towards the harbour. A pleasant and fun ride against the wind provided a few big spray... More
