Staying for the week in St Ives we went twice and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. My wife and I both have Merlin cinema discount cards so we both get to see films for a total of £7..Needless to say we take every opportunity to make use of them...Yes the cinema could do with a refurb, but It's the films we go to... Just got back from the cinema, was able to book on line in advance, they offer a good membership deal, but I have to say the condition of the cinema is as the title suggests very tired. All the arm rests need redoing and the seats need attention. I however love the size of the place and with a bit... More

The woman cashier there is disgustingly rude and off hand. I am surprised they do ANY business at all with the way that she interacts with the cinema goers. I would NEVER employ her!

I have stopped going to the St Ives Merlin cinema. The toilets are horrid and the cinema seats are full of holes - you have to move along several seats to find one without the stuffing missing. No wonder the lights are never turned up properly - goodness only knows what you'd find in the full light of day. Such... More

I saw the live performance of Medea which was spectacular. Worth checking if there are any National Theatre live performances while you are visiting.

Saw The Hundred Foot Journey here(which was excellent) but the cinema needs complete refurbishment and it was really quite dirty. Popcorn was stale. Otherwise it was a treat to see an old-fashioned cinema.

it`s just about the opposite of this new rising multiplex cinemas everywhere. If you want to enjoy a movie evening in an old styled fashion, it`s just about the perfect place. It has the atmosphere we like. We definitely prefer the small local cinemas over the the anonymous large ones.

Great prices, helpful staff told is about the choices of films, and gave us opinions. there weren't many films on offer, but I would say that for each age group there would be a choice of two or three films. we watched a kids movie, it was a smallish room, but the chairs were comfy, and we had loads of... It's the exact opposite of a multiplex, its small, a bit quirky, rough around the edges but if you grew up before multiplexes were everywhere then you definitely went to a cinema like this on your British Summer holiday. Although it's a bit tired its friendly and great for a rainy day in St Ives. Three screens mean that there... More

doesn't have the mod cons of some but is quaint and steeped in childhood memories - great selection of films and reasonably priced
