This cinema is obviously a bit old and tired but has a certain charm. The screens are small with old style seating but, that adds to the 'old fashioned' character that you don't get now in the new multiplexes. To be honest, a bit of dusting and a vacuum around wouldn't go a miss but the film was great all... More

Went to this cinema to see the film 'San Andreas' and although it is smaller and older than the multi complex type cinemas it is still a great place to watch the big films. Tickets cost us £6.50 each which is a good reflection on the type of cinema that it is,a small town cinema showing the top films for... More

Place is a bit run down, but film was are good & staff pleasant, so you get what you pay for. Sometimes wish there was more selection with the films, but we had an enjoyable evening when it was pouring with rain, & it was better than getting wet !!

It's a bit harsh to compare this small town cinema to the sub-urban multiplex cinemas my family is used to, so I won't. For starters it costs about 40% less to watch a film at The Royal compared to our local Showcase cinema, so you know the facilities won't be comparable. This review is based on the facilities and experience... More

Went to this local cinema whilst staying in St Ives and it just happened that it was showing a live broadcast from the National theatre in London of the play Man and Superman with Ralph Fiennes. It was great way to enjoy an excellent but long play on the cinema screen seats were very comfortable and the service was very... More

Been to this cinema many times over 25 years. It's a bit tired and in need of investment but serves its purpose well enough. Enjoyed the movie and will use again on our next holiday.

We have been wanting to visit The Royal Cinema in St Ives for sometime - well yesterday we did, going to see The Second Marigold Hotel (for the second time in 2 weeks!!) The Royal Cinema was a delight; we were surprised at the quality of the theatre - from the sound, quality of picture, comfort of the seating -... More

Just got back from the cinema, was able to book on line in advance, they offer a good membership deal, but I have to say the condition of the cinema is as the title suggests very tired. All the arm rests need redoing and the seats need attention. I however love the size of the place and with a bit... More

The woman cashier there is disgustingly rude and off hand. I am surprised they do ANY business at all with the way that she interacts with the cinema goers. I would NEVER employ her!
